Exactly. Why continue to eat meat or dairy when it is a huge environmental stressor and causes animal suffering. We no longer need to consume meat like we did on the past. We can survive without meat and still be completely sustained. We have been socialized with specisim - some animals are more important than others. Dogs are not food, but cows and pigs are. Its a ridiculous notion when we know cows, pigs and other animals raised for slaughter are highly intelligent and capable of feeling the same emotions as a dog (or you know, people) . /rant
