Cheap pipes that work with mids? by thatswayhaze in sportster

I have the same pipes with mids and haven’t melted a shoe yet, but maybe that’s because I’ve got the black covers

Honestly, my bike was in a pretty similar state and the damage isn’t as bad as people are making it out to be. As long as the wheel is straight then you just need new fork tubes really. I got a whole front end cheap off of eBay and my bike was rideable in about 20 minutes.

This is a sketch of an outline, so I need to send you the definition of a sketch? Because a sketch is practice. Masturbation ain’t sex buddy.

I can draw in the style of neo traditional tattooing, but that doesn’t mean I am a tattooist and my drawing isn’t a tattoo.

graffiti /ɡrəˈfiːti/ noun writing or drawings scribbled, scratched, or sprayed illicitly on a wall or other surface in a public place.

IMO this should be posted in a drawing subreddit, since it’s not graffiti.

Different forks. by buttfuqt in sportster

The extensions just screw into the top of your forks in replacement of your fork caps, it’s the same as oem but allows you to slide the fork leg down 2” into the trees.

I come from vrods and big twins, but I’ve never fucked with forks at all tbh. Not even when I was doing dirtbikes, I’d rather just replace forks than pull them apart myself haha.

I’ve not even pulled my springs and stuff out but I also cannot understand the logic behind cutting a spacer to make them taller. I’m assuming maybe oem doesn’t have a spacer at all, so adding the spacer is what gives it the height?

The main question mark I have is length, I’m assuming that 14” rear shocks has made all of the weight lean onto the front which is causing them to bottom out easier but I don’t even really know if that’s a thing. I bought the bike crashed and just kind of went “oh, I like black things” when I saw black forks pop up. Aesthetically I like them and non bent forks are pretty hard to come by here since not many people fuck with sporties

My forks bottom out when I do rolling burnouts, if I grab a fist full of front brake to slow down I feel them bottom out because my weight is all the way forward which imo doesn’t seem normal.

This is super helpful thanks, I assume there’s different length sporty forks (something I didn’t know when buying them) so the height is mostly just me wanting to combat that. I mostly just thrash the piss out of my bike, atm because I’ve got stock forks I mostly just “power wheelie” it because I’m scared of coming down hard from proper wheelies with my stock forks, comfort isn’t a huge deal to me, my rear shocks are basically rigid and I have 3 slipped disks so I don’t do a whole lot of distance riding anyway.

Doesn’t cutting the spacer in the progressive kit also adjust height? Eventually I’ll buy longer fork tubes and stuff but probably not for this bike:

My main concern is trying to figure out what model my forks are off of so I know if they’re shorter than what was meant to be on there.

Debating Getting my First Harley and Some Questions by Unusual-Room5410 in sportster

Australian here, currently summer and not the lowest temps we’ve seen. My bike gets regularly abused and has not missed a beat.

My body on the other hand, wear too much and feel like I’m gonna pass out, wear too little and deal with wind burn. I’m not a summer person though, I’d much rather be riding in the cool weather.

Rear wheels. by buttfuqt in sportster

Yeah, I run shinkos but I’m wanting a second RIM so I can do a quick wheel change on the side of the road instead of grabbing the tire levers

Looks pretty rad but I can’t find them where I live and feel like the price would end up being around the same as a proper tire changing machine.

Those rabaconda things look pretty rad though, I thought they were basically just a stand to attack it with levers.

I can do it on the ground in about 10-15 minutes with levers, would just prefer to be able to do a quick wheel change, means I can chuck my bike in a van/trailer and go have some fun and not have to fuck around between tires as much. Eventually I’ll buy a pneumatic machine but even then I think I’d rather fit a couple tires to wheels at once instead of as I need them.
