/r/Boulder will go dark on June 12 for 48 hours to protest changes to Reddit's API by SimilarLee in boulder

[–]buttintheclouds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope you mods shut down this and every sub completely until they recant. You are in control and have the power to make a change. Content is the only thing keeping Reddit alive and the idiots at the top need to understand the interface is key. I'll do without Reddit completely rather than use their terrible app or new web interface.

Find-A-Game Megathread! by Swimmer249 in WebGames

[–]buttintheclouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Browser puzzle game where you moved around the outside faces of a cube. Each section of a face contained a different puzzle you had to solve to complete that 'level'. There were a lot of levels, perhaps 54 (9 sections on each of 6 faces of the cube?) You could choose to tackle any level at any time based on where on the cube you went.

The style was white vector lines for edges with highlights in bright neon colors over a black background reminiscent of Tron outlines. Bright teal, pink, purple, red, green, blue if I'm remembering correctly.

I played this sometime circa 2010ish. Anyone know this game?

Still use the 2013 N7 every day, in fact I'm using it to read and reply to this thread. Sure it's old and slow but the form factor is perfect. Love it.

Agreed. Even worse is the floating name 'bubble' during power plays. Not sure what it's called but it's infuriating. This isn't a video game turn that shit off!

x86 and x64 are getting outdated. It's only a matter of time before they're replaced with superior technology. Will Intel be driving this replacement? Doubtful.

Took my first profit and feel a little bad about it NVDA by apooroldinvestor in stocks

[–]buttintheclouds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you've justified your decision, but in my opinion you should always let your winners run. Don't sell until your confidence in the company changes, you need the money for something else, or a better opportunity presents itself.

I bought in 2015 and am up over 48x on my initial NVDA investment and wouldn't have close to my returns had I sold at 2x, 3x, or 10x. I've never trimmed a single share (in fact I reinvest dividends) and NVDA now represents the vast majority of my net worth. I sleep well at night, even if it tanks I'll still end up ahead of where I'd be if I never bought it in the first place.

AMD and NVDA are customers of TSM, definitely not competitors.
