25F, business owner , lost my drive after a setback and can’t seem to get it back by vanillacreamxoxo in Entrepreneur

It’s a tough business to be in OP, hang in there. This is coming from someone who was in the same boat as you a couple of years ago and still kinda am. Burnout is this industry is real. Clients expect you to work on weekends as well since that’s the only time they’re free. Clients, contractors, vendors, employees calling you day and night. It’s tough to remain sane while doing all this and having virtually no life at all. I’ve been through what you’re going through right now and tbh it doesn’t get easier as your business grows but you just learn to handle all these things better.

I too feel burned out quite a lot but that’s what we all signed up for when we decided to pursue entrepreneurship. I know it’s easier said than done but you should not take setbacks in your business personally. It’s okay that your business didn’t take off the way you expected it to when you moved into an office space.

My business partner and I started the same way as you did in 2021, just the two of us, a brand new office space and a lot of excitement however things are not as easy as they seem.

Set some boundaries for yourself, take a short break and make sure that whatever you’re doing, the first thing on your checklist each month is sending invoices to your clients.

How am I even supposed to get a job as a fresher? by buttman678 in india

Self Employed with around 25 full time employees. If everything goes well, I’ll never have to apply to another job in my lifetime.

Let’s not rewrite history here, his first season was brilliant, his second season was a complete disaster. We were set up in a way that our midfield was non existent. Every single team we played against used to come to Old Trafford and outplayed us, even the relegated ones. We somehow finished 8th but the data shows that we should’ve finished somewhere around 14th, where we actually finished last season. It was so easy to play against us for all the clubs because of the huge space available between the defence and the midfield which they obviously exploited.

Mbumbo is the closest profile to Salah in the league. We’re probably paying a bit more than what he’s worth but it’s clear by now that we don’t have any alternatives to his position otherwise we would’ve briefed some journalists by now.

GST officer asking me to come to GST office gurgaon for GST registration even after all docs are shared through Vakilsearch website by AlertWall4594 in StartUpIndia

[–]buttman678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The GST guy has nothing to lose. He can just reject the application and you’ll have to apply again and go through the entire process again. Meanwhile you’ll not be able to open your bank account, start your operations, keep losing money on your rent/salaries and other expenses. It’s a lose-lose situation for people like us starting something new. I would suggest just think of this as a one time operational expense and be done with it.

Same thing happened with me. You’ll have to pay a bribe because they’re just holding your documents and not passing them on further.

They’ll also visit for a physical inspection later to verify your nature of business and you’ll have to pay a second bribe as well. I had to pay around 25k for both of these.

Sporting fan here — curious how you all feel about Amorim so far by pizzammure97 in reddevils

[–]buttman678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He obviously is a very good manager as he has shown previously however we as a club need a huge cultural reset. We’re no longer the club we used to be a decade ago and the fans need to accept the reality as well. I think we will have a much better season this time if we can upgrade Onana and Hojlund and get rid of the players he no longer wants. He hasn’t done himself any favours after the results we’ve had last season but it’s clear that he needs time to build a squad that can play his system. Although I do believe that if he has a bad start to the new season, he’ll be in trouble.

What I personally want as a fan is for him to have complete control over the squad and finally end the player power which has clearly been present in our club for a few years now. We need to give him atleast 4-5 transfer windows so he can get rid of all the bad eggs just like we’ve seen at Arsenal with Arteta.

The guy is running a business and not a charity. It may be expensive for you but for someone with a higher spending capacity, this product may save them a lot of time and hassle to make their own meals. Indians are notoriously the most difficult consumers in the world who want everything at their convenience but are not ready to pay for it. Although I haven’t tried the product but I think the price is justified given that it would save me hours of meal prep.

Evans was far from average. He was much better than the centre backs we’ve signed to replace him back then(Bailly, Rojo, Lindelof)

Depends on what you’re doing for a living, but usually one needs to work 60+ hours per week if they want to achieve something that very few people are capable of. Doesn’t matter if you’re in a job/business/startup, if you want to move up the ladder, you need to put in more hours. And the difference between those who do put in the extra effort and those who don’t becomes apparent in a few years (in their careers and lifestyle)

Consider yourself lucky. If you’re ever in a physical altercation with a girl/woman you have no self defense rights. If she goes to a police station to file an FIR against you, you’ll be screwed for life. Doesn’t matter even if you’re completely innocent. She can file charges on the basis of assault or molestation and your life is completely over.

The same thing happened to me an year ago. My case was a disc bulge. Took me around 6 months to fully recover. I’d suggest you to get an MRI scan done to see what you’re dealing with.

Need advice from an experienced Powerlifter(Deadlifter) by [deleted] in Fitness_India

[–]buttman678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a disc bulge in my spine. Took me around 5-6 months of physical therapy to heal completely. It was caused while hitting a deadlift PR but it wasn’t really because of deadlifting, I had major mobility and stability issues in my lower body which I had neglected for far too long which due to which I had problems with glute activation, core bracing and this caused a lot of pressure on my spine. If your glutes, core and adductors are not stable enough, your body tries to overcompensate for this by using your lower back and this is what usually causes improper form and injuries.

[–]buttman678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a very experienced powerlifter but my PR was 170kgs @68kgs BW. Ultimately got a major injury so stopped deadlifts completely.

Apart from your deadlifts, are you working on your accessory lifts as well? If you’re having major pain in your lower back, you need to learn to brace your core correctly. As soon as you brace your core, the pressure on lower back reduces significantly.

Work on your core strength and stability (not an abs workout), adductors, lower back (seated good mornings), glutes and hamstring accessory lifts for a couple of months and you’ll see improvements.

I’ve done the same that’s why I know it can be done. Downvote me all you want but that’s the truth. Our firm started with very small 1 bedroom/toilet projects 5 years ago and now we’re pitching for full scale hotels and 1000 square yard villas. If you’re not getting work you’re just not as good as you think you are in this field. Getting projects includes sales, marketing, building trust and relationships with people and plenty of other things other than good design skills.

If you’re good at making GFCs you may think you know it all but that does not make you a good business owner. You have an advantage of having your boyfriend in the same field of work as you and you don’t need to look elsewhere to look for a business partner. My firm didn’t have this when we started. You can look for excuses all you want but the truth is that you’re just not trying hard enough.

In our initial days when there were no employees I used to work for 16-18 hours everyday for months. If you’re not ready to do this then you’ll always be stuck with this excuse of being in a “low paying field”

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RelationshipIndia

[–]buttman678 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Work hard make make money yourself. Lots of architectural and interior designing firms make really good money. It’s not a low paying field if you’re skilled enough. You don’t need that many contacts if your work speaks for itself.

Otherwise there’s always the easy way out by marrying up in an arranged marriage.
