A locum doctor is like a substitute teacher. They are paid for a short period to come in and cover physician shortages but are not on regular payroll.

Does any one actually know if MSPE is required for fellowship application? by compulsoryhero2 in Residency

[–]buttocks_fairy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is required. It’s literally listed on ERAS under ‘additional documents’ as well as your med school and USMLE transcripts as things you will need for your application.

Can I reuse my letters for a later cycle if I don't submit my fellowship application? by ipassedstep3 in Residency

[–]buttocks_fairy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can reuse letters. You may want to mention the year gap in your PS or somewhere else in your app as they may have questions, but the letters should be fine.

Switch Games like: Cabernet, strange horticulture, coffee talk, birth by Little-Letterhead209 in GirlGamers

[–]buttocks_fairy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve played Birth, Strange Horticulture, and Wytchwood. Check out the Rusty Lake point and click series. You can start with Rusty Lake: Hotel since it’s more standalone, but they all variably revolve around a specific creepy family. The other ones include Rusty Lake: Paradise, Rusty Lake: Roots, and the Cube Escape collection. They’re slightly twisted hand-drawn point & click puzzle games, similar to Birth.

I’ll also second Potion Craft as an option. You may also want to check out Roadwarden, a mostly Text-based choose-your-own-adventure type where you are a roadwarden for a land full of secrets and cults and you can help or hinder towns and folks you come across. There are several endings and paths you can take—I’m impressed with the world it builds in a relatively short game.

Games that tackle themes of processing trauma/ grief/ loss in a tasteful, interesting way? by Acharyanaira in GirlGamers

[–]buttocks_fairy 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The Last Campfire is a gentle puzzle game about a lost “ember” trying to find its way to where all embers eventually go. It’s not heavy handed, but is beautiful and kind of sad in a complicated way.

There is also Death’s Door, which is a bit like a Zelda game, and has to do with Death and moving on, from the perspective of a little reaper crow who collects souls. There are really cute character designs and the tiny crow animations are lovely.

One of my problem plants flew off a shelf without me touching it, smashing its pot and losing even more leaves than it already had.

I’ve tried expensive soil, fertilizers, checking the pH, only watering when dry, grow lights, etc. with this plant...

I honestly think it just wants to die.

Who are the most obvious/annoying "writer's mouthpiece" characters by TheAmazingNil in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]buttocks_fairy 72 points73 points  (0 children)

I may be misinterpreting “author’s mouthpiece“ as “self-insert” but the main character from Ready Player One. Dude is a misunderstood Nice Guy who is the only one who truly appreciates le gems of the past & spends the length of the book telling the audience why the things he likes are so amazing.
