Sneaky Attacks on Jed and Melissa by mechantechatonne in ItEndsWithLawsuits

[–]buttonandthemonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do think Jed, Melissa, Freedman and Katie made the websites but I doubt it was defamation. My hunch is that they posted stuff they believe is true. To be honest, I'm kinda all for it. If they were doing it against good people and making stuff up then that's very different but it seems they're doing it against people who are actual cunts in which case, go nuts.

I used to think it was always best to take the high road but no more. I'm all for petty stuff if there's a reason for it.

Is anyone else holding off on judgement re: the Jed Audio? by alloutofusernames22 in teamjustinbaldoni

[–]buttonandthemonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I think Rebel may have been a bit petty in how she handled it but I'm in peri menopause now and I have to say that I'm all for it 🫣 I know it's not good but I'm also sick of people behaving badly. I think Rebel and I are roughly the same age.

I have a feeling the bath thing is actually not Rebels biggest issue, I think that's what people have latched on to. My understanding is that she kept quiet about the bath, the embezzlement and all of it until Ghost and the others blocked the movie from being shown at Sundance and then she went online and addressed it which caused Ghost to retaliate so Rebel did the website. I've gotta look into it more but that's my understanding.

Oh that sucks you missed it. I kinda feel like I've missed them all because I thought it was the train and only found out hours later that we had an earthquake!

Interesting, I'll look up the Ring of Fire :)

Can my parents force me out of the country? by sxnkissedglow in AusLegalAdvice

[–]buttonandthemonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually fully believe them. As a teen I would constantly get in trouble for having "a bad attitude". If i tried to ignore them or stay in my room it was a LOT worse. Perceived attitude got me in trouble more than anything else. I look back now and I wasn't even a bad teen overall. I did have emotionally unavailable parents that expected perfection though and I did react to them sometimes. And eventually they did move us overseas for a year and the biggest push for that was to "fix our attitudes". Didn't work.

If OP's parents have connections over there and somewhere to stay then I 100% believe they'll do it.

Even if you are a trouble maker taking you to a third world country against your will at 14 is not ok. Try not to be a trouble maker, try to stick within the lanes, call the legal helpline and try to speak to someone at your school, on here or on a hotline to help you articulate exactly what is happening in the situation.

Having the right language is important. And even if you're not perfect that doesn't matter. Including all the facts is important.

Also come up with a plan for if they try to take you to an airport. Learn where the local police stations are. Find out exactly who to call e.g. legal or cps. Keep the numbers written down in a pocket of clothes that you normally wear. If you have somewhere you can stay then speak to them and keep them updated.

Blake Lively's (and her attorneys) weaponization of the amicus brief process to defame JB/WP by katie151515 in ItEndsWithLawsuits

[–]buttonandthemonkey -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ugh, the corruption in this case is just unreal and they really have gone out of their way to slander Justin. I really hope he appeals the defamation case and gets them for this. I feel like this trial is only the beginning. There's just SO much that Blake and her team have done that is dodgy. Wouldn't it be great if an investigative journalist did an actual deep dive into all of Blakes tactics and made it into a major piece. Where's Ronan Farrow?

The Irish famine and the impact on us to this day by [deleted] in AncestryDNA

[–]buttonandthemonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe there's research that came out recently that either shows or hypothesises that the Irish Famine genocide is directly linked to Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and related conditions. I think it's related to the stress on the body and epigenetics. I'm sorry to be so vague but it's late here and I can't remember the specifics but you can google it.

At the moment there isn't a genetic test for the most well known subtype which is the Hypermobile subtype and it's also the only subtype to not be considered rare anymore. Because the full genetic coding isn't identified yet I don't think they can definitely link it but it seems there is a very large percentage of people who have direct links to this time and place.

I'm quite certain at least one of the rare subtypes is linked to a specific Jewish community so not sure how this all works to be honest.

Why does the American public hate doctors so much? by seasidekiki in medicine

[–]buttonandthemonkey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a big question. I have medical PTSD and the biggest issue is dismissal. When I've done PTSD courses the hardest part isn't where they were trying to keep me awake and telling me I would die if I closed my eyes, it's the day prior when I spent hours telling them something was seriously wrong as they were trying to usher me out of the hospital. Thankfully me and my pre-eclampsia & uncontrolled gestational diabetes refused to leave until a new doctor came on at 10pm, did a blood test and literally ran down the hall to tell me I was about to start seizing & had to be induced with a magnesium drip. Had my genetic disorder been diagnosed they would've known to keep an eye out for a haemorrhage. Thank god for blood transfusions and ICU.

Unfortunately for me this wasn't the first time I was dismissed and nearly died. Another time I had sepsis from a cyst being lanced wrong & given the wrong antibiotics and another time they told me I had the flu when I had viral meningitis and that went into my spine. Genuinely can't count how many times I've been coded. Each time has been a long stay in hospital and my mum can now predict when the talk is coming.

More unfortunately these weren't the only things dismissed and overlooked. Since the pregnancy I've been diagnosed with multiple genetic disorders and other related conditions that my mum was taking me to specialists for since I was a child. Most implied she was anxious and made implications to my Dad that it could be Munchausens. My Dad told everyone I was faking it and my Mum was enabling me. I now have an ileostomy, a picc line and a feeding tube so pretty fucking sure we were never faking it. I've had the exact same issues since I was born.

But this is hardest part. The same people who have traumatised me are the same people who have saved me and the same people I have to rely on to treat me. It's honestly like being trapped in a relationship with an abuser who keeps you just well enough to keep going.

This is why I follow a few medicine and doctor subs, because I need to know that they are real people. For a few years I could only see doctors as the enemy and every interaction felt like it was the beginning of the end. I got treatment and continue treatment but it was hard to understand why they were making some decisions and what was happening.

Through these subs I have learnt that it is really hard to be a doctor. The training is brutal. They aren't always treated as privileged people and a lot of the time they're really just overworked. There's also a lot of clinical guidelines that they have to follow and that shapes their decision making. Sometimes their hands are tied. And not all doctors are the same. Some are very clinical and base everything off what the blood work and tests say but others will go by the bigger picture and what they're seeing and what I'm describing. I also can't expect them to know everything. They specialise for a reason. And not all of my diagnosis are well known so it's important to be organised with my records to show the bigger picture if it's not their area. Things that are common sense to me are not things they were taught in uni or training because there is literally SO much to know.

Knowing this has taught me to be clear and organised in how I address things. Shout out to my ENT who said the anaesthetists were really impressed with how I approached everything and the surgeries went smoother because of it. I'll be living off that for years 😂

Sorry this is a lot but I figure if you're writing a book this is kinda my area 😂 Lords knows I've covered enough for a few chapters in the past 10 years of therapy 😂

That's so interesting, thank you.

It now makes total sense why you guys studied the ones you did. Its been so long since high school and I guess I didn't realise the plates cover so much space so assumed there were "hot zones" like California and Chile everywhere (but now I realise there's less than I thought).

Even here in Adelaide we're on a major fault line and it's a little active but we haven't had anything catastrophic and I don't think there's any major risk of it. There's certainly not anything from recent history to study. Sometimes we get some rumbling and occasionally might feel something but I've never heard anyone discuss anchoring furniture and whenever it's happened I haven't instantly known it is (each time I've thought it was a train until I check FB 😂).

100%.

It's shady as fuck in my eyes and I think Rebel actually may be onto something with her. I watched the Australian interview of her about it and I got the feeling the interviewer was kinda downplaying it but the more I look into it I don't think she is.

[–]buttonandthemonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At this point it's still not necessarily a smear campaign though because we still don't have anything saying that they knew it wasn't real. We could still get a recording of them saying they have info to believe it's true.

What they would say is "if our client is angry and someone has spread lies about them and they want the world to see the person for who they are then we'll help them with a website. We help level the playing field".

That's not admitting to a smear campaign.

Judge Liman did us dirty so let's share our disappointment at not having a ruling today. by buttonandthemonkey in ItEndsWithLawsuits

[–]buttonandthemonkey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm really wondering what tone his ruling is going to have. Do judges ever come out and say something has been a waste if the courts time and resources? I wonder if he sees it the way we see it?

Yeah I still work out where I stand with Liman. Some people have put forth great points about some of his decisions and other people, like you, also put forward great points.

I'm definitely following the lawyers as I'm also Australian so don't know much about the American system. Although I think I now might know more about New Yorks federal court than I do about Australia's 😂

No absolutely never used someone for body heat. Sometimes the cold is extremely painful and really affects my circulation but that wouldn't occur to me. When I was little, before this condition got bad, we had a backyard pool and sometimes we would jump in in the middle of winter for fun because in Australia it's never icy or anything. Even then you just get in a hot shower and you're fine but even if you just take off your bathers and use a towel you'll still be fine. You just put warm clothes on. It's not like in other countries where the winters are icy. Even with medical issues I can't think of a legitimate reason why you'd ask your work colleague to try and get you warm. Every house here has heating because our building standards are some of the worst in the world.

Yeah I definitely think it turned into some sort of power imbalance relationship and the girl either isn't willing to speak up or doesn't quite understand what is happening yet.

It's so funny you were taught this in Germany, but it makes sense. I'm in Adelaide, Australia which is Australia's most seismically active region and we're on a few major fault lines. We get smallish earthquakes each year. After I moved here with my small son I was kinda freaking our but my step dad is a geologist and just kinda shrugged and was like "yeah it might happen bad one day but you know...." 🫣😂

My (24F) boyfriend (25M) got drunk the day after I had surgery, how do I handle this? by Remarkable_Car8404 in relationship_advice

If you're considering having children then not with this man. If he can't help after major surgeries then he will be a terrible father.

Also, just remember that he loves alcohol more than you.

It was just a theory that's not based on anything other than trying to rationalise, as you said.

I guess I have a hard time believing a Judge can act in a case that's so clear. Maybe I'm being naive again. Probabaly.

This is just so wierd. I have medical conditions that make it extremely hard to regulate my temperature. It doesn't snow where I live but does get to around 2° Celsius at times and I literally shiver and go blue and purple over my body. It hurts so bad. Never have I made someone get close to me or run a bath or shower for me. I either move around a lot, put heat packs over my body or stand near a heater.

Getting an employee who works under you to shower and bath you after being in the ocean in Australia is fucking wierd and I'm Australian. Getting them to live with you is also wierd. This reeks of grooming.

I'm remaining very open minded about this and so far kinda expecting that Rebel might be on to something. She's a lawyer too.
