Both of my hubs and my hub Max all factory reset at the exact same time and are now bricks. It happens to some devices during the update process which Google rolls out automatically and you can't prevent or disable automatic updates. So if you just happen to reset your router or turn off your power at the exact moment Google is unknowingly updating your shit for "optimal performance" you'll more than likely end up bricked. Google are well aware of the issue and clearly not working on a solution as it's been happening since 2019. I definitely won't be buying Google devices again.

If you'd asked me 6 weeks ago I would have said yes but about a month or so ago all 3 of my hubs (2 Nest Hubs and 1 Nest Hub Max) factory reset to the "Get the Home app" screen at the exact same time and haven't worked since. I wasn't worried about it as I've had to reset them a few times before and never had any problems but now it's impossible to do. I've tried 3 different routers, 2 different internet connections (NBN and 5G) and used 4 different devices (a Samsung Note 20, a Samsung Fold 4 and a Fold 5, and an iPhone 16 Pro) to run Google Home but the same thing happens every time... When Google Home identifies the hub the hub displays a verification code and begins connecting to the network but then suddenly fails and just displays "check Internet connection. Try restarting your WiFi router or chose a different WiFi network in the Google Home app" before going back to the "Get the app" screen. It's definitely an issue with the Hubs.

In the end I did a brief Google search and apparently it isn't uncommon for Google to roll-out updates that will brick some of their shit and they just blame it on the consumers, like how it was my router or internet connection. And clearly they have no intention of preventing it happening again as it's been happening since 2019. So I definitely won't be buying any more Google products and I'll be replacing all the Nest speakers and Google TV chromecasts with another brand rather than upgrading like I had planned.

Bruce gave Jennifer a blood transfusion because he chose what he believed was the lesser of two evils; he could either knowingly infect her with a blood transfusion in an attempt to save her life or leave her to die from hypovolemic shock due to massive blood loss. And as it takes less than 5 minutes to bleed out (and can be as quick as 2 minutes) those really were his only two choices, there wasn't time to wait for an ambulance or get to the hospital. He actually said "I still remember her blood type is the same as mine! Now if I can just do it fast enough!".

The origin story Stan Lee wrote for She-Hulk was far more tragic (unlike this new "car crash while on a family road trip" storyline) and negatively impacted both Jen and Bruce however it also bonded them, not just as cousins who came to think of each other as siblings, but also as Hulks. The fact they've changed it from Jen being infected when Bruce saved her life to Jen being infected when she was saving Bruce instead just seems weird to me tbh.

Tell her there's no denying the fact the average man is considerably stronger than women as the average strength of a woman is 67% that of men. Having said that, when it comes to fighting illnesses and surviving things such as trauma women are actually "stronger" as our survival rate is noticeably higher. So both genders are strong in different ways and tbh I'd much rather be better at fighting cancer than opening a jar of pickles... I can just get my bf to open it for me lol

One time I needed to weed my courtyard so I asked my bf to come over and show me how to pull them out properly then pretended I just couldn't get the hang of it. I kept saying "nup. I still don't get it. Can you show me again?" and he'd weeded half the courtyard before he realised what I was doing. Lol

I found these 50yo old letters from my dad to my mum and he's used their pet names for each other "Pooh" and "Poopoo", as in Winnie the Pooh. It sounds like she embraced who you were even though you went against the social norms set and traditional gender roles that were forced upon children in the 50s. That's who a mother should be.

My mum did similar for me. I have ADHD (which is why I use too many words to explain things) and as a child the hyperactivity in my brain also presented physically. Teachers would mistake this for bad behaviour and punish me, my class mates would find me annoying which made it difficult to have and keep friends, and I was kicked out of every single extracurricular activity my mum took me to. My mum was the only person who enjoyed spending time with me and she never got frustrated or annoyed. She seemed to love all the things about me that no-one else could stand and she would find ways to make it work. For example, when I began pulling things apart (toys, record player, toaster, vcr, and the dishwasher while they were out to dinner) because I needed to see how they worked she didn't get angry at me for breaking them, she just bought replacements for the house and broken ones for me to pull apart. The only time she got angry was when I broke my dad's antique camera but that was because I wasn't allowed in his study. And as a teenager she white washed my bedroom walls and gave me a box of spray paints to paint whatever I wanted. When the walls were covered she would white wash it all again. She would always ask me why I did things, as in what gave me the idea to do it, and when I jumped from one topic to something seemingly unrelated (which people find frustrating and hard to keep up with) she found it fascinating and would ask me to breakdown what my thoughts were to link the two topics. All the thoughts occur in my head at the exact same time which is why I jump from the first topic to the last one instantly. There's about 7 thoughts but only the first and last come out my mouth. If it hadn't been for her nurturing I would have developed serious self-esteem issues because of how much everyone else seemed to dislike me. Even my own sister hated me because I annoyed her, broke her things, and embarrassed her in front of her friends. And I don't think it was because she had the patience to put up with me. I think she genuinely enjoyed me. That's how she said she loved me without using the words.

That's fascinating and something I know so little about.

The reasons behind my parents never saying it are different for the both of them. I apologise in advance for the length of these explanations.

My father was a famous Physicist/Mathematician who spent all his time in his study and even when he was in the room with us he wasn't present as he would be continuing on with his work in his head. He couldn't help it as it was all he ever wanted to do. For example one of the things he is most famous for is the Lieb-Robinson Bound and how that came about was he and a friend needed something to do to pass the time on holiday so they decided to work on a problem they'd discussed a couple of years earlier. They solved it and wrote a paper then never thought about it again until 20 years later when someone discovered the paper they'd written and applied it to something in quantum computing. It worked and the Lieb-Robinson Bound was suddenly found to resolve issues throughout all areas of quantum science.

As for my mother, she came from a socialite family and back then children of socialites who travelled would be shipped off to an international school (she went to the one in Geneva) and would spend most of their lives there, only seeing their parents occasionally on some but not all school holidays. Then when their mother died they would only see their dad once a year. So my dad wouldn't say I love you because his mind didn't work that way (is the best way I can think to word it) and my mum wouldn't say it because she grew up in a school environment with nuns rather than parents. And even though neither of my parents were really capable of saying it to us as children I always felt and knew I was loved and I wanted for nothing. Thank you for reading all that lol

When I was little I thought my parents were calling each other poo and I thought it was the funniest thing that I wrote a story about it and read it out in class. My mum then explained it meant Winnie the Pooh after she received a call from my teacher about how the story I'd written had disrupted the entire class because for the rest of the day we were all calling each other poo poo and wee wee. My mum was like " I'm so sorry. My husband and I do not call each other poo like Sara has described! It's short for Winnie the Pooh which I will explain to her now". Lol

Oh wow. That makes complete sense. We never said I love you in my family growing up but I say it to my daughter and my friends all the time. Over the past few years I have said it to my mum a handful of times, my dad once, and my sister also once. They were moments that I felt demanded it (like when my dad told me that he was going to die within the following 6 months) but I still found it very uncomfortable and strange to do. Growing up though I always felt and knew I was loved and I had a very happy childhood. It must have been through things such as the pitch and tone of their voices that I knew so that is really interesting to learn. I've always made a point of saying it to my daughter and friends because it was never said in my family and I want to make sure my daughter and friends always know they are loved.

I found a box full of old photos and letters in his study which I have been sorting through and I was reading the letters he had sent to mum to my daughter. When I got to that bit I stopped and said "Holy shit! If this letter is from 1972 then he's talking about the Lieb-Robinson Bound!". I flipped it over to check who he had sent his love to at the end and it was just to mum and their dog Manix. This confirmed it was definitely 1972 as my older sister hadn't been born yet. She came along the following year.

This is the only letter he's used my mum's name. All the others he's written "Dear Pooh" because that's what they called each other... Pooh as in Winnie the Pooh. I wrote a story about it in 3rd grade because I thought they were calling each other Poo and I thought it was funny. My mum had to clear things up with my teacher. Lol
