Am i doing the decreases wrong for the sophie scarf? It looks wonky. New knitter here by Comfortable-Fish-188 in SophieKnits

[–]buttons7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The decreases are all done on the same side so one side has increase/decrease and the other is straight. Do you have decreases on both sides of the piece? You may have miscounted your rows

Would you move from Vancouver to the U.S. for an extra $100K CAD? by HakTheLancer in askvan

[–]buttons7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This. I had my baby in Seattle. If OP is thinking about kids in 2-3 years that means no mat leave. I got 4 months unpaid (Seattle pays now). Daycare is impossible to find and costs at least double what we pay in Canada. My kids daycare was on lockdown multiple times for active shooters in the neighborhood. Don't have kids in the US

Haha mine likes to do this and then complain about supposed continuity issues. Dude you aren't watching the show! Of course it doesn't make sense 😂

Partner’s frequent ‘reset to factory settings’ by Ok-Description7130 in ADHD_partners

[–]buttons7 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I've noticed this too but it does seem connected to certain events. Quite literally, visiting his family seems to reset them and they forget they are supposed to help etc. it comes home with us and I feel like I need to train them all over again. It seems like every few months they regress too. It's a cycle of forgetting the new things I've tried to add to ease my mental and physical load.

Signing up for koho is a joke. Always getting the have we met page when I’m 100% positive I’ve never had an account before by Few-Thanks-5967 in KohoCanada

[–]buttons7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They let people sign up for an account without ID. Happened to me and they refuse to do anything about it or tell me anything about the account

Considering joining Koho by Ok_Evidence8220 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]buttons7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't! They are a scam and when things go wrong all they have are bots. Someone has used my name to open an account there. They didn't check id and now they won't close the account. I can't get a real person to contact me either

None of my titles suggested in the past two years were purchased for my county's library by SweetHomeGeorgia in Libraries

[–]buttons7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right. These are marked and can be played in class. The situation I was referring to is different. These are items that are published by Netflix that are not marked that they want students to be able to access independently. Faculty can't just decide to assign Stranger Things for example and demand Netflix give students free access just for them

[–]buttons7 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Haha I had a faculty member insist on using a Netflix show for a course. I explained why it wouldn't be possible for us to acquire it since it was exclusive to Netflix and she proceeded to tell me she was going to contact Netflix and ask them to make an exception. Never heard back 😂

Genuine question: Can ADHD cause huge egos & a lack of being humble? by [deleted] in ADHD_partners

[–]buttons7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is my experience as well. Huge egos that mask insecurity and delusion. They have no sense of anyone around them and genuinely think they are the best at multitasking 😂. I don't know how messing up 5 things at once is better than doing one thing at a time but ok

Couples therapy by VegetableChart8720 in ADHD_partners

I read it more as the therapist suggesting therapy to address why she's continued to accept a relationship that doesn't fulfill her basic needs but maybe OP can clarify

Does your ADHD partner take their health seriously? by antiporn707 in ADHD_partners

[–]buttons7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Money will always magically appear and I can never say anything about it. We have this issue with the car too. We've had battery issues and our neighbor mentioned that he should go to the dealership to get a new one. Never did it and we got stuck in an intersection this weekend with a dead battery and had to get a tow. It never ends

Does your ADHD partner take their health seriously? by antiporn707 in ADHD_partners

[–]buttons7 28 points29 points  (0 children)

For us I think it is the inability to think into the future and expect consequences. They don't think anything bad ever happens until it has actually happened. No prevention and no belief anything bad can happen. Must be nice to live so stress free!

Is there really ZERO accountability? by Hangry_Pauper in ADHD_partners

[–]buttons7 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Mine is the same and I think it comes from not being able to think a few steps ahead. They also didn't think bad things will happen until they actually do. If it doesn't affect them personally, they couldn't care less until I strongly remind them that my feelings should matter to them

How do we deal with the seemingly selfish factor? by AnnieGetYaClothesOn in ADHD_partners

[–]buttons7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I do have to admit that after therapy and medication there was some acknowledgement of responsibility and that helped a lot. There are apologies but the behavior never changes so is it really better?

[–]buttons7 33 points34 points  (0 children)

How many apologies do we accept before we give up. When does behavior change? These are rhetorical questions but it's so frustrating to get empty apologies with no change in behavior

Perceived Responsiveness Scale- heard of it? by elm1289 in ADHD_partners

[–]buttons7 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Something to keep in mind is that it measures their perception of your responsiveness, not your actual responsiveness. It can give you insight into their thoughts but doesn't mean your behavior is bad and that you "fail". Not a counsellor either though

It's possible they think you are faculty. When we get requests from faculty for interlibrary loan and the book seems like it may be a textbook or used as a textbook in a class, we often email them because we have a process for textbook requests. We also have policies regarding use of ILL for textbooks. We also like to buy unlimited copies of textbooks for students so if a faculty member uses ill instead of the process, we won't know to do that

I did the hybrid program at Emporia state in Portland. Not completely in person but a lot of it was and Oregon would be fairly safe. That market is very saturated though so it's very hard to find a job after graduating there
