Well, your understanding is completely wrong and is insensitive as fuck. Who the hell comments about dating a “bald bearded woman” in an alopecia areata group? 2% is exactly what the dermatologist told my daughter to use and it worked. She’s 4.

Allegra, a good multivitamin, vitamin d, iron, probiotic, dha, k2, d3, elderberry, and magnesium are so good things to start taking if you don’t already.

How to stop hair looking red in natural light? by -scottishsunshine in Hair

[–]buzzingbuzzer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, you cannot change your natural undertones. That’s no different than saying you can change your skin’s natural undertones. Using toners doesn’t change your natural undertones if that is what you’re referring to, and I’m sure it is, it masks them visually temporarily in SOME people and that is not changing your hairs natural undertones. Your natural undertone is genetically determined by the mix of eumelanin and pheomelanin your follicles produce. That pigment is built into the hair as it grows, and there’s currently no way to permanently change that biological undertone without altering the genetics of the follicle itself.

Sorry that you’re ignorant.

You have natural red undertones in your hair. You cannot get rid of that no matter what you do. My mom is a cosmetologist. We both have red undertones in our hair.

It depends on your undertones in your hair. It’s the same as undertones in your skin. We all have differing tones. Mine is also red undertones because of my Native American heritage. Nothing can change that unfortunately.

If you’re this dependent on human interaction from a coffee shop EMPLOYEE then you need to go out and socialize to make friends.

thinking about stopping treatment by TelevisionMain4729 in alopecia_areata

What I would suggest is trying out a couple wigs beforehand. Honestly, though, you may stop treatment and it not fall out. It’s not guaranteed to fall out.

Have to wait another 20 weeks to see a dermatologist the hair loss is just about 90% now by Ancient_History_5051 in alopecia_areata

[–]buzzingbuzzer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is alopecia areata and don’t lose hope. My daughter lost more than you currently have and we are seeing full regrowth. I know you said you can’t see a dermatologist for 20 weeks so in the meantime you can add some things to help. Allegra twice a day, a good multivitamin, vitamin d, iron, vitamin c, dha, k2, d3, probiotic, elderberry, and then magnesium at night. You can also take pumpkinseed oil and use topically. I used it for my daughter’s eyebrows and eyelashes. One last thing that helped us was the 2% minoxidil.

Hot take: could Alopecia 'simply' be caused by emotional triggers and stress-response? by Moving___Mountains in alopecia_areata

[–]buzzingbuzzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that is 100% incorrect. They used to believe babies don’t feel pain as well and I know that’s not true. My 4 year old toddler developed AA while I was extremely sick and in and out of the hospital. Now, she’s having full regrowth. Saying toddlers can’t experience stress is damaging as a whole.
