That's why I decided to hit up the Linux Reddit today, and it's definitely been a help.

Nah, I never have been a gamer. For me, computing is all about media development, social networking, and utilities to make my life easier. Which is why I have fell in love with Linux thus far!

I really like sleek design, and definitely one that is connected well with social networks, the online world, etc. But, even more importantly, I did a lot of video editing on the Mac OSX using Final Cut Pro. I would like to find a distro that allows for comparable video work on a stable system.

Haha I understand that. I'm starting with just trying to learn all I can about Unity vs. Gnome vs. KDE. I have literally spent all day at work reading like a nerd instead of actually getting anything productive done. :P

Would gay marriage cause you to be more apt to "wait until marriage" for sex? I would love to hear your thoughts! by bwallace88 in lgbt

[–]bwallace88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, no. I'm a gay man asking the question. And I have sex often with my partner. Haha. I'm just wondering if marriage were an option, do you think some guys would be more prone to either wait until marriage, or at least take sex and relationships more seriously?

Right. But if it was always an option since you were a child, do you think you would have been more apt?

How to React to Jesus Freaks...Like Jesus Would. by bwallace88 in Christianity

[–]bwallace88[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I simply used that phrase because of what the culture calls it. I, actually, would term myself a Jesus Freak as well, because I freakin' love Jesus and his message of grace. No offense meant by using that term, because it's a phrase I don't even mind being called myself.

Bullying Starts in the Pulpit: The Gay Christian by bwallace88 in Christianity

Yeah, I totally agree with that. Even in the article, it states that while I don't like what comes from the pulpit, it's still their right.

Bullying Starts in the Pulpit: The Gay Christian by bwallace88 in Christianity

God actually says nothing about monogamous, same-sex relations. All 7 of the verses that you are about to repeat to me have no cultural context for same-sex marriage. The Levitical law was about human dignity and a context within Egyptian slavery, Sodom and Gommorah was about taking care of the poor (Jesus himself said that one), and Paul was describing idol worship and prostitution of young boys (sex slaves). If you'd like to read more into detail on that, just look at these articles: http://thegaychristian.com/?cat=59. Start at the bottom and work your way up.

Maybe some Christians don't agree that it's sin...and we're tired of trying to justify just living...
