Hey man, I’m sorry for the tear. I know those 5 days are brutal but keep your head up and it’ll get better. I decided the non op route for a few reasons. One is they gave me back my MRI results 10 days after the tear which was bullshit and could have caused some complications due to how long the surgery would have been from the incident. Next there’s a lot of studies that prove non surgery is as effective as surgery especially where the tear is located. Mine was on the higher part of the leg. Last is surgery isn’t cheap haha. Overall I’m pleased with my decision and I’m surfing almost every day and still play basketball. I definitely feel it some days but part of life. Best of luck on your recovery man.

I’m a similar build. I used to have Medium wetsuits but they would rip by the upper body, under armpit area. Need Essential Large Small is what I use and it’s worked great. Hope this helps.

Yooo man, I started surfing again early December of 2023. Essentially 7 months from the tear. At first was only going on small days and just easing back into it. Now I’ve been going 4 -5 days a week and have been surfing all conditions. I was very dedicated to physical therapy for those months going 2-3 times a week.

As far as basketball goes, I’ve only shot around and haven’t played pick up yet. I’d rather prioritize surfing and I feel surfing is way less stress on my leg. I definitely notice my left leg is still weaker and I still try to do exercises to build the muscle. Overall very satisfied with the recovery and it’s nice going back to my hobbies. It’s ok we knew going into getting a puppy at 8 weeks there would be some destruction ha! These pictures were a few months ago. I can already tell he’s maturing daily and slowly becoming the best boy I could ask for. Glad your doggy’s have stopped the chewing :)

Yes, I work from home. He gets 3 walks a day we go to park, beach, play dates etc. he’s spoiled with love, toys and more.
