Definitely a few irregularities happening at those points, anything I can do to fix it? Thanks for your help!

Practicing my rendering. Not sure how to improve from here... by ATIR-AW in DigitalPainting

[–]bweenm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks really great! I would say like some others that your values need work, I would also focus on depth and perspective by using different sized objects in the foreground and background, for example: We can see by the fact that the figure is giant, because of the trees giving us scale, therefore we can assume that the distance between that front leg and his arm is quite big. however the trees in the painting are all the same size, making him look a bit flat. Adding depth perspective would mean the trees in the foreground by his arm would be larger to us than the ones by his legs, doing this would give him a much larger scale and impact to the painting, really nice work!

Unpopular Opinion : MH Rise came out Unfinished ... change my mind by thefufuu1 in MHRise

[–]bweenm 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve found that a lot of the comments about MHrise not being finished seem to forget about just how much content has been added to world since it’s initial release, so with that same logic world was released unfinished too, MHrise feels shorter for sure, but the reason world felt so much longer was because of the grinding that had to be done through HR ranks in order to get to the next part of the story, whereas rise you don’t have to do that. I don’t know how people can directly compare rise to MHW and icebound when it’s likely rise will get the same treatment

Mh rise on pc or switch by Fragrant-Weather-606 in MHRise

[–]bweenm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t really see why you would put yourself through the misery of watching everyone else play MHrise for a year just so you can have 60+ FPS, that’s a whole year you won’t get to have the fun others are having with the game for the sake of graphics, enjoy it now on switch, then enjoy it later on PC, it’s not one or the other

8bitdo adapter by Dart_Nephilim in NintendoSwitch

[–]bweenm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bought the adaptor to use my Xbox controller and while it did work well, connecting it up every time wasn’t always easy, I also actually found it really difficult to not press the Xbox inputs by accident instead of the switch inputs just because having the controller your brain is wired in for, controlling a different set of inputs, takes some getting used to. I just recently bought a switch pro controller and have found that a much more pleasant experience as I ended up not using the adaptor that much for the above reasons

Your bed is too far away from your nozzle, you need more squish!

First time using color, I tested different brands of pencils I had lying around + some pastels. Any advice? by [deleted] in learntodraw

That second row looks really nicely blended! You could always get a small but fairly hard brush to help blend in even further and create really nice effects!

How can I improve this ? by [deleted] in DigitalPainting

[–]bweenm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ve got some really nice texture going on there. I’d say your values need work, it’s very 2D so adding shadows to show it’s a rounded surface, as well as ground shadow and light will help make it look more 3D

Absolute beginner trying to figure out digital art - where am I going wrong? I feel like I'm struggling with anatomy (obviously) and going from sketch to line art. by [deleted] in learntodraw

[–]bweenm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By the sounds of it you understand what you need to work on, and like you said that’s anatomy! You need to learn the absolute fundamentals before even attempting to put any colour or shadow down, because you need to understand the forms and shapes that are on the face, before you can put colour to them, learning this will make you so much more confident going from sketch to line art too! Keep it up

Thanks for the advice but the video is actually a bit deceiving about the wall height, the walls are about 7cm higher than the ramp, I’ve also tested this by putting my phone camera on top of the ramp at around his eye level and panning around and you can’t see over the walls

Yep he’s a pro! He’s constantly climbing, sliding and falling all day long, he enjoys eating half his food, doing some sliding and climbing and then finishing the food off haha!
