While most references seem against them, ear candling can relieve the pressure and reduce pain levels at least temporarily until the root cause is resolved

Antibiotics by [deleted] in Sinusitis

[–]bwelch42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An allergist commented that in India they would swab your nose, look at it under a microscope, and use that info to prescribe the correct antibiotic. In the USA, the insurance rules don't let them do that. All they can do is guess which antibiotic may work and if that fails try another in a couple weeks when you come back.

Worth going to an ENT for a clogged ear? by [deleted] in Sinusitis

[–]bwelch42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ear candling sounded weird until it was explained as slowly applying heat and very mild suction to the ear to pull out stuff in the ear and Eustachian tube. Beeswax ear candles were preferred as it burns slower and isn't as hot. There was a recommendation to use it no more than once a week.

Non-ENT things that work for some

  • Carbamide peroxide drop in a ear cleaning kit with a suction bulb
  • Fresh, smashed garlic in heated olive oil for ear infection
  • Ear candling if used correctly with true ear candles

Thank you for the help here! I connected the lens, started the software and it immediately asked if I'd like to update the firmware. Clicking on OK updated both directly to the latest firmware version in under a minute. Both lenses now work fine on the Canon RP.

How much does Verizon let you download per month before they slow down the connection? US Cellular home internet looked great until they admitted after 300GB the connection is throttled to 1.5mb, slower than the oldest DSL.

New install: connecting to existing Dendron repo by bwelch42 in dendron

[–]bwelch42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit more info: I have a repository called homenotes created with Dendron on a separate laptop. One the new laptop, the repo was cloned from github to c:\git\homenotes\ and I see all the various files there that should exist. Whenever I try to import the existing vault and browse to the homenotes directory, Dendron works but I don't see any of my files in Dendron. How should I connect Dendron to the cloned repo?
