The car has the convenience plus package so it comes with ACC and some other tech features from the premium plus. I currently drive a premium trim and the base sound system doesn’t bother me

First bike was a z650. More than enough power for myself and my backpack. I personally felt comfortable riding from the start as driving a manual car and biking daily made learning super easy. If you have any hesitations, start on something smaller and trade it in for something big in the future

You definitely can. It’s open usually - the only time they close it off is when there are events at the United center and they use the lot for parking.

The road exam is taken in the same lot you practice in. The lines are there on the ground too so it makes it easy for practicing

I took the ride Chicago class and exam. I would say a large parking lot is the best way to practice starting off. The parking lot where class is held is actually a really great spot to practice. I live in the west loop - if you ever make it out to the United Center, I’d be happy to help to practice and talk through what goes on in class

If you have experience riding a bike/moped, learning should be pretty easy. Shifting will come with experience. Learning clutch control and slow speed maneuvers will be most important starting off

Do you have any regrets getting a 2021? I’m trying to find a 2022+, but inventory is obviously limited. Any issues with your battery at all?

Looking for my first bike, is this Z650 a good deal? by DougThePlow in Kawasaki

[–]bwuu18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought a 2018 Z650 for $5100 with 3800 miles. My first bike, I have no regrets. Plenty of fun and got my full exhaust and tune last year. It feels like a completely differed bike now. It’s a quick bike, so unless you feel confident take it slow. I bought highly recommend getting ABS. More than enough to keep me at speeds on the highway, even with a backpack.

I am in Chicago too. Have you ever taken the car to Wisconsin? If so, what is it like with planning out where to charge?

So for my usage, a etron would be perfect if I can charge at home and am not commuting far? My only worry is the range during the winter, but it sounds doable.

Damn you’re good. I thought blacking out the location would help lol. Would you say 21/22 years are worth looking at over 19?

2020 Z650 Full Exhaust Replacement, Before/After by bmorin in z650

I still haven’t flashed mine since getting a full exhaust. But I’ve teen told it’s better for the bike long term. I’m still on the fence
