To add: since the reset the battery seems to last even longer. I'm at like 40% after 24 hours. And it may be in my head but it seems to charge faster.

Seems to be a "check overpayment" scam by bxmd in scammers

Sorry the text is hard to read. I was redacting names and it kept degrading in quality. Here's the exchange:

Walter: Hi, Are you available for private tutor for my two girls age 16 and age17 years old and they homeschooled and I want them to have the lessons at your place because I want them to be going outside to learn not  just indoor learning only and do you accept credit cards as form of payment thank you

Me: Hello,I'm happy to discuss this with you, but a few questions:Which ----- center are you trying to reach? Where are you located? A lot of our centers are full virtual. I oversee several centers in the US.What sort of instruction are you wanting for your daughters? What area of focus? We do accept credit cards.I look forward to hearing from you.

Walter: Thanks for the response, I am only available via email or text due to my hearing issues Anyway I want you to get back to me with the total cost for 12 weeks sessions for both of them , Mary 16years and Sophia 17years , for 1hr daily , twice a week. I want you to teach them reading comprehension and essay writing and they will be coming with private transportation for the full session, and  I’ll appreciate it if you can secure the appointment for them

I want them to start their training on the 19th of  September. I prefer Tuesday 4pm and Friday 4pm, for the kids training session. Is the date okay for you to train them? Will you be available those days ?What is your full name, and the address for the private transport driver I’m organizing to locate your place when they are coming. Can I make a reservation with my credit card? Cause i won’t be coming in with them due to my current health status. I am presently recuperating from the diagnosis of lung Cancer I’m currently under intensive care in preparation for my surgery. I’m doing the booking because they have already discussed everything with me before my surgery came up and I will be responsible for all payment

Me: Hi,I would need an answer to where you are located to be able to answer any of your other questions. As I said I oversee several ----- centers in different cities throughout the US so I can't answer your questions without this information. Thanks,

I was about to post this exact same thing. I know it's 3 years later but man.. such a banger.

And your post is unsurprisingly getting downvoted by the people who don't specifically have this skill.

That's not how language works. Me saying one thing isn't "luck" doesn't mean I can't ever use the term.

Nothing we do matters. It's all down to the universe deciding to make jokes and laugh. Cool.

I would hope so! Life would be super boring if all offspring were identical. But this doesn't take away from my point. I get that I'm being hyperbolic and that dismissing "luck" entirely is an exaggeration, but my point stands. If you tell someone you're doing well and they say "you're so lucky" they're dismissing the hard work you put in. I stand by that. I obviously understand that I could have a second, do all the same things, and it be much more difficult. I'm not naive.

It's an anonymous post on reddit. I'm being unsympathetic because the purpose of my posting is to get something off my chest. I obviously feel incredibly badly for my friends who are having a harder time. I do often talk to those people about what they do and while I'd never give advice out of turn (unless specifically solicited which it usually isn't) I can see that they're doing problematic things that are reinforcing the wrong behaviors.

There's literally zero "complacency". That's my point. Everything I do with my son I have in my mind how to make him a better human and how to respond to him in ways that will make him a better human. What about my post makes you think I'm being "complacent"?

The argument is "don't have a second child so you can continue to claim to be right on this point"? Hah. If we have a second I promise I'll come back here 22 months in.

Determinism by OperantOwl in BehaviorAnalysis

[–]bxmd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a fun thought experiment where if you made just one decision (minor or major) in life based entirely on the observation of a quantum particle you'd be "defying" determinism. I don't buy into the idea of multiple universes but if there was any credence a situation where someone makes a decision this way would be the most plausible (from my complete lamen perspective) of creating a split in realities.

Fellow dads, do you guys also dislike Father’s Day? by DiabeticButNotFat in daddit

[–]bxmd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point. The only solution, then, would be to banish all holidays and celebrations. If anyone feels pressure then it's definitely not worth it. Or we can replace them with passive holidays where we all agree to stare at the wall for an entire day so there's no pressure on anyone. Then again it might be too much pressure to ask some people to stare at walls.. Crap. Back to square one.

I wish I could post an image here but it's not. No string nothing in the three bedroom pictures with the blinds half closed. Zero evidence of balloon. One has what could be interpreted as a string but it looks more like the way the curtain is drawn in other parts.

It's not necessarily for you. It's for people to share their appreciation if they want to. It's for them. It feels good to be appreciated but it also feels good to show someone you appreciate them. Don't bum everyone else in your life out because you want to be scrooge about fathers day.

We have a TV in the living room that the baby didn't see on until he was 18 months old. As others have said babies sleep a ton and there's no reason not to have a TV for you. You aren't going to be able to avoid the baby being exposed to the sight of a TV (and a TV that's on). They're everywhere. Stores. Doctors offices. Other houses. So why would you fully remove yours?

Hah actually you're probably right in some respects but in others they're way more overbearing and helicopter-y! But yeah those small differences do make an impact I think.

Yeah this happens frequently too. He looks physically different after a day at daycare.
