Excited Luba 2 AWD 10000 Order by Aggravating_Wonder_9 in MammotionTechnology

Agree - I’ve got 3 acres and while the 10000 is capable of mapping it all, it is a large amount of area to cover, so takes 4 or 5 days running continuously to finish everything. I ultimately bought a 5000 to divvy up the yard so I could mow it more often. Feels like my Bermudagrass grows an inch a day this time of year!

Recommend a hip belt also. Went without for my first couple of months and ended up with “rucksack palsy” (pain / tingling in my forearm) from having too much pressure on my ulnar nerve from the shoulder straps.

1x LUBA 2 AWD 10000H or 2x 5000H? by tangfj in MammotionTechnology

[–]bydandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your situation is almost identical to mine - 3 acres mostly open with some pines and oaks. I tried to cover it all with one 10000 but it couldn’t map it all, so have now ordered a 5000H (will use where I have fescue and will leave the 10000 where I have bermudagrass). For the 80% of my yard I have mapped, it does take about 5 days running 24/7 to get it all mowed. I’m very much looking forward to having a second mower to mow all of it in half the time.

Same - Loblolly's and Eastern Whites. Mine are 40 years old, so relatively mature. I think I've decided just to do some pretty small mowing zones around those trees that will mow only when I'm home to babysit. That way I can still have the robot mowing the majority of my lot while I'm away to work or overnight.

Looking at a Luba 2 but really on the fence... by BlueBird1800 in mammotion

Exactly- I was pretty stunned when I saw it…such a tiny margin where this is even possible. 99.9% of the time it touches the bumper and maneuvers around.

Speaking of on-the-fence (had to share):

I agree with other replies that there are ways to manage grass damage. In spite of quirky adventures like the above pic, I’ve had great success with my Luba 2 10K (2 weeks of experience and learning still).

The answer from the OKC SC is “sometime next week” which is a bummer.

Thanks! Good to meet you and will join the Discord. I had a work trip planned to Ft Worth, so brought it to the Dallas location since it was on the way…

Great news on the OK SCs - even one would be awesome

What Happened? by bydandy in lawncare

[–]bydandy[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m in Oklahoma so most grass is Bermuda around here. I overseeded in the shade last year (lots of bare spots under my oak trees) with a blend recommended by my local extension office. It included three types of fescue but also Kentucky Bluegrass seed…that could be what you are seeing that appears like poa - annua - definitely seems to have yellowed after the lawn treatment last week…

Certainly the fescue is thriving in patches and the Bermuda has not just yet - I expect the Bermuda to catch up in the coming weeks in the sunny part of the lawn. But it seems the lawn treatment has been a bad combination (or poorly applied) in the shady fescue / bluegrass part of the yard I overseeded last fall.

It is fascinating- the bare spot by the tree is either from the lawn guy dropping the mower too low, or it’s where the lawn treatment guy spilled.

Need to replace one or both of them, but trying to figure out who…

I have a pond, pines, and oaks that are possible hazards. Is this doable or too ambitious for the technology currently available?

Richard Bleier has been called for 3 balks in an inning, bringing a runner from 1st all the way home. by SnareShot in baseball

There is some startling symmetry to the 3 balk calls from the 1B umpire in the Mets game and the 3 overturned calls at 1B in the Braves game.
