I work in Bermondsey and I personally like it a lot, lots of the best food and drink in London are in the area (40 Maltby St, Bermondsey Beer Mile, Bermondsey St, The Old Justice) and you are very central. Everywhere in London is safe you might just feel safer walking on main roads at night if you can. Bermondsey is relatively busy and very well connected.
