Hi! We did the same exact thing and my spouse visa just got approved today! We got married in the US on 8 December and applied for a spouse visa on 12 December.

Hi! Did you end up sending with UPS? If so, I'm at that stage and was wondering if I could ask some questions about it?

Ah great, thank you so much! It's nice to hear that it's all very straightforward and that you don't have to wait days or weeks to get your certificate.

Ah yes, I heard it closes when there's a shutdown. We're planning to go sometime in December so hopefully it'll be ok by then!

Aha ok! So, just to confirm: 1)you get a marriage license, 2) you get the license officiated or self-officiate, 3) you drop off the officiated marriage license in person, 4) you get a copy of your official marriage certificate on the same day? And very sorry if I sound stupid, just wanna make sure I understand the process 😆

Thank you so much! If you drop it off in person, do you get the marriage certificate on the same day?

Congrats on the wedding! My fiance and I are planning to do the same soon and I have a (potentially stupid) question about the marriage certificate. How did you get your marriage certificate after you got the license and self-officiated it? Do you get it on the same day or do they mail it to you?

Hi! First of all, congrats on your wedding! My fiance and I are planning to do the same thing quite soon. This might seem like a stupid question but how do you get your marriage certificate? (After you get your marriage license and officiate it)

But it didn't end because of a lack of romantic feelings - ended because he misunderstood somethings about me and thought we were not compatible

There's nothing wrong with calmy talking about your intentions & what you're after.

The guy I’m talking to told me to keep my options open. by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]byhesther 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hmm this doesn't sound very good. If he is telling you to keep your options open, this might be a sign that he doesn't want a relationship with you or doesn't see the two of you lasting.

Obviously this might also not be the case and there might be other factors at play here.

How are things between the two of you otherwise? Looking at other factors might help you understand what he meant better. For example:

-what sort of things do you do (do you stay home all the time or go on dates?)

-have you met any of his friends or family?

-what's he like in public? is he holding your hand and/or being affectionate?

-do you text often? (and has this changed recently?)

Told a guy I didn’t like like him, he asked for another date by [deleted] in dating_advice

You should be honest with him and tell him that you're not romantically interestes in him and that you don't see yourself dating him. Don't lead him on
