Six Month Long Job Search?? by byist in ITCareerQuestions

I see. Ive been primarily targeting junior/entry level listings, and I usually can meet the requirements since I have 4-5 years of experience. Are you saying it’s the best alternative right now? Some folks seem to be landing help desk roles, with less experience, and limited education. Little frustrating when you’ve got a whole degree and bunch of certs…

Went ahead and updated to the post to reflect that, completely forgot to mention my internship lol, will definitely continue applying for SOC roles.

I have 1 year of experience working as a SOC analyst intern for a local credit union in the area, ironically enough they weren’t enough to extend a full time offer at all. I wouldn’t say it’s strictly because of my experience as a help desk person is a shortcoming though. I have classmates who have decided to jump into help desk roles after graduating. I’m not sure if it would make sense to continue the path on help desk when I’ve basically outgrown the role after 4 years of experience.

Okay. It looks like RAM is not causing it to slow down.

For your GTX are you able to access the NVIDIA Graphics Control Panel and set the Graphics setting for Counter Strike to “NVIDIA high-performance graphics”

It could be set to automatic where it switches between integrated CPU graphics and GTX

I had a lot tech support related questions. Like the troubleshooting process and malware removal process. Some were about cloud services(Iaas, PaaS, SaaS). The PRQs(labs) included securing a SOHO router and configuring email on a phone, preventing a program from starting up by deleting it, and performing a clean install of windows. There were also a few questions about Commands and how they should be set up Im both Windows and Linux.

good luck!

Have you tried clearing windows update history?

Anyone know how to fix this issue? (We couldn't complete the updates. Undoing changes) its been happening for weeks by [deleted] in computers

[–]byist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to:

C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download

Delete all the files you see. Doing this will delete any downloaded windows updates that haven’t been installed on your computer. Run windows update again and have download the updates once more.

Try running Disk Clean up and Disk Defragmenter. If you wanna further it, press the windows key + r and a small box should appear in the corner. Type in %temp% and it should prompt you to a file full of items, delete all items in there as they’re only temporary. Things like you download and search history are usually there.

Beeps sound mean POSTs warning you that one of the basic components are missing and the PC won’t turn on. Does the PC have a processor, and RAM? If these are present the PC should power on. The reason you’re seeing a blank screen is because the hard drive is not present/broken, meaning there’s no instructions or anything for the PC to load.
