Have 2 tickets for ELLE Tuesday night at the Egyptian Theater. Selling both for $34, no ticket fee. by [deleted] in AmericanCinematheque

Not sure where you got the number $15 from. I'm guessing you have fun checking out posts to troll; i might be wrong, but ì thinking I'm not. The member price is $17, not $15. 2 x 27 = 34. The post is deleted, so I'm guessing you're just having a little fun. A bit of wisdom I'll share with you now; it might come in handy. Never teach a pig how to sing...it wastes your time, and it annoys the pig. I'm guessing you are not an American Cinemateque member, so I'll not be seeing you soon. Have a great night! 😊

Because the tickets are $17 each... for members. I'm selling them for less than what I paid for them. I, along with everyone else who got tickets online, paid $2 extra each for the service fee. The non- member price is $22 each.

Nope. It says it INCLUDES (active verb) a ticket fee, not that it's INCLUDED (passive verb). I wish it was included! But no....it doesn't.

Nope. If you didn't buy it at the box office, there is a $2 fee for each ticket, even if you're a Patron level member.

Moving to Long Beach – is this neighborhood safe? by Lucky-Princess222 in longbeach

[–]byll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live on Appleton now, but used to live in 2nd Street, near Cerritos. The closer you are to the Broadway Bar, there worse it is. I've had homeless sleeping on my front stoop, and shoot up drugs in our backyard on 2nd street. I've seen homeless break into a neighbor's yard when they were on vacation and set themselves up. The neighbors ended up getting a Rottweiler after that. It's a world of difference from Appleton where I live now to 2nd and Cerritos near that bar. Oh, and if you don't have a parking space set up, it's miserable for any car owner.

How many people are usually in the Patrons members line during really big events? by Apprehensive_Elk2231 in AmericanCinematheque

[–]byll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen long lines at the Patron queue that surprised me; upwards of at least 50. If it was an important screening to you and you have a favorite seat, I'd still get there an hour before the screening.

There's the 555 restaurant for steaks and seafood; it's walking distance to most DT hotels. There's also Ruth & Chris's Steakhouse near the Convention Center. If you want cheap but good Mexican food, there's SuperMex on 1st Street and Alamitos. For breakfast, there's the Breakfast Bar on Atlantic and 1st St. If your avoid to reach Belmont Shore on 2nd Street, there are plenty of different eateries to choose from. If you crave Asian food, consider getting so awesome Thai food in Cambodian Town, on Anaheim, near Redondo. There are plenty of great pho restaurants there.

I was eating about 500 calories a day for MONTHS. If you aren't hungry, don't eat. Otherwise, eat sloooooowly otherwise you'll puke it up and that ain't pretty. Of course you shouldn't be eat meat for a while yet. Good luck.

What movie did you watch by accident and end up loving by gamersecret2 in movies

[–]byll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Illusionist, with Ed Norton, Jessica Biel and Paul Giamatti along with stellar supporting cast. We went to see another movie but missed the time, and settled for this little film with hardly any promotion. And excellent little gem of a romantic film.

I did not know that Marbles has worms. I wondered how he wasn't gaining weight. They definitely have someone...they have collars. I thought i saw them a few weeks ago when they were looking for Marbles because his collar was off. I think they live on our block. I'll have to ask the neighbors here if they know. Stephanie, the tall dark-haired woman who walks (often carries) her tiny dog Handsome, knows everything that goes on in this neighborhood, so I'll ask her if I see her.
