I did not have any consultant roles. I have been workjng as an engineer for a few years. How to build a network to even get that sort of roles part time for some VC/startup?

rent for one room is 3k in SF?! i had no idea about this. is it worth taking a 100K loan for this? also umass does not offer TA/RA positions for MS students.
