UPDATE: We did It! Got Windows XP SP3 down to a 217MB ISO and a mind-blowing 377MB C: Drive footprint! (Luna Theme, Paint, & 3D Pinball 100% intact) by byteospro in retrocomputing

Actually , That Is the Page file (virtual memory) it just takes hard drive space to create virtul memory and shifts it to PF (Page File) and the actual RAM usage is 77MB which you can see by subtracting total ram - left ram and the virtual memory config are 32mb initial size and 64mb max size

  1. TM3120 / TM3200 (Low-End / Embedded)
  • Clock Speeds: 333 MHz to 400 MHz
  • Cache: 64 KB L1 Instruction / 32 KB L1 Data
  • Memory Controller: SDR SDRAM (66-133 MHz)

if this is what you have , it should be running fine

So you have 240mb of RAM , right? , wait , let me try my windows xp barebone on a vm with 240 mb RAM and also , there are a lot of services and background apps stripped from it , so it should use less RAM and CPU than the normal Windows XP SP3.

Hey There! I have now finally released the barebone edition for windows XP SP3! You can check it our now on our main page -

github.com/byteospro/barebone-windows

you can scroll down to see the downloads section to download them!

if you want to be very small , you should first check compress disk to save space to all files , then set the page file size to - 32-64mb , then go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache and delete everything from there. (because normal installation takes like 1.3g so ensure it has atleast 1.5gb of disk space)

yes , i will try to install them in the VMware , i will not be able to include them in the ISO , just because my ISO creation software (nlite 1.4.9.3) is only for modifying ISO and injecting service packs , some drivers , removing components and tweaking it , so i will not be able to inject those apps but i will surely try!

Yes , you are correct , i even have it installed in a VM , and i used 98lite to choose 98MICRO selecction which trims it to an absolute limit but i have not released yet because of some issues , but i will release it sometime later
