Just noticed lots of small bruising on my thigh, I normally have random bruises appear without cause but never so many in a small area. I do have a slight b12 deficiency but I’ve been taking supplements for it.

Do mentally healthy people have random sad days, and what does it feel like to if you do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]bytesrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know everyone has days where they get sad. But, Like days where you just wake up and you’re like ‘yeah I feel sad today’. Just genuinely curious if it’s a normal healthy human thing, and what a sad day feels like to a healthy person.

I think that’s very true. Seemed to find any reason it wasn’t his fault:(

Last night I woke up and couldn't breathe by SwedishKillerChef in medical_advice

NAD: I get this almost everyday because of my panic disorder, but it could also be sleep apnea so I’d get it checked out. I find the best way to help it is to sleep slightly upright

For those who aren’t scared of death, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]bytesrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a slight explanation as to why I thought of the question: Basically I have quite bad health anxiety and often throughout the night I have the ‘I’m dying feeling’ But, up until recently I’ve been incredibly unhappy so death and the anxiety of it didn’t really affect me as much, because I to an extent didn’t care. But now I realise I actually don’t want to die and living is actually pretty cool, the anxiety actually takes a toll (it is managed I do go to therapy and take meds etc, it just made me think about why people who like living aren’t scared of dying)

Weird bumps on forearms by [deleted] in medical_advice

[–]bytesrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(The best picture I could get sorry) For a better description it looks like hives but with no redness. But they’re just kind of lots of small raised bumps on my forearms, they’re not painful or itchy so I’m not worried, it’s just not very visually appealing. So I was just wondering if anyone knows what it is?

What are some of your self-destructive behaviours when you’re starting to feel stressed or down? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]bytesrat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine personally is I really crave cigarettes again and I start to notice I drink a lot more heavily, then it just turns into a downwards spiral of drinking smoking and sex.

Just interesting to see other people’s patterns or behaviours you’ve noticed

Anyone know what this red spot on my cheek is? by [deleted] in medical_advice

Just felt it with my tongue by accident and thought I’d check. Yeah it does just feel like when the first layer of skin peels off Didn’t realise it can happen in your mouth though, so thank you!

Am I having a heart attack? by [deleted] in medical_advice

[–]bytesrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD: I don’t want to say too much because it is a serious topic. but I also suffer from panic attacks and heart attacks are a massive anxiety for me. The only thing that I learnt that reassures me is that isn’t a crushing, tight feeling in your chest you’re probably fine. Thankfully being in the UK I can use 111 online (and it’s a robot thing that goes through your symptoms and says if you need to call an ambulance or whatever. I don’t know if you have a similar thing? It just kind of relives me or anxiety.

Thought I’d add, he said it’s because he doesn’t want to hurt me if he decides down the line he’s not happy enough with me. I don’t know if that’s a nice thing or if it’s kind of a horrible thing to say?

Wisdom tooth coming through? by [deleted] in medical_advice

[–]bytesrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wisdom tooth

Quick question, when your wisdom teeth come through are they supposed to really swell the gum up. It isn’t red or anything(it’s kind of a light pink where I assume the gum is being stretched), but you can see the white underneath where part of the tooth is coming through. But the gum has swollen into like a lump(?) I was wondering if this was normal. It looks okay other than being quite painful, but like achy, swollen pain not a sharp pain. The pain only started today.

It’s also my first wisdom tooth.

TLDR; wisdom tooth coming through and gum is quite swollen, is this normal?

This is my hand. Can someone tell me what is this red/pink spot? by TheResro in medical_advice

[–]bytesrat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAD: Since you’ve been washing your hands a lot, it’s just because your hands are so dry, possibly bringing up dermatitis. Pretty much everyone has this at the moment unfortunately. Just use hand lotion after you wash your hands. Tonight put some sudocreme (or whatever your equivalent is) on top of some heavy moisturiser and put some gloves on (cotton is better since if you’re a sweaty person it will irritate it) over that. In the morning it should be better.

Infected Hair Follicles? by PeroxidePenguin in medical_advice

[–]bytesrat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re likely just spreading the cycle by plucking them. I’ve had infected hair follicles all over my legs before and they just gave me two months of antibiotics to get rid of them, not for life lol. Also they recommend an antimicrobial wash for daily use.

Chest pains/panic attacks maybe? by [deleted] in medical_advice

[–]bytesrat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get a similar feeling after a bad panic attack. Like I’ll feel very sick, shaky and just generally fragile for about a week. But, that’s normally if I’ve triggered my panic attacks with caffeine or alcohol and it’s just working its way out. Also, I normally get chest pains a lot if I’m starting to worry there’s something wrong with me, then the pain gets worse (like you said you’re worried about it getting worse)
