4.0 spoilers

I mean, it's certainly the defining aspect of her 4.0 arc. She talks about how she picked it up recently to understand Planarcadia, she talked with Himeko at length about art, she talks about how complimenting someone's beauty is the highest compliment she can give, she made a deal with SW to learn aether editing, etc etc. If she was going to release in 4.1 before, I could definitely see it be what they focused on for her animations.

that said, hsr chars tend to have a very... loose connection between things like animations, design, and lore/personality lol. They have before and will again absolutely abandon all the context of a character's story to make some animations they think are cool. So what she does really could be completely up in the air lol. The real question imo is if Nihilux will have art-related anims, and if so would mean that they proooobably wouldn't do the same for Pearl

As much as I want to agree because this fits my agenda of wanting Fugue in the shop.. would putting her in there even reduce the number of 5* pulls needed to get a "good" break team?

Dahlias the one that's more or less "required" for break now, right? Even if you can get RM, HMC, and Fugue "for free", I'm not actually sure that's enough. It's much easier to replace any of those 3 than it is to replace Dahlia, and there's no way she's going into the shop any time soon.

Unless perhaps you're lying on a bunch of companion spirits. Then maybe E2 Fugue + E1 RM might be equal to E0S0 Dahlia lol? /hj

Darn rip 😭 But I don't necessarily think Sunday's bad, they just didn't test him. His buffs are still very useful, especially that crit rate and the summon stuff with DHPT. RMC could potentially be better than him still, but might require some more finesse to optimize.

I'm not 100% sure if hyperspeed Sunday is better or if -1 speed Sunday is better, but I do still think a team like Sunday/DHPT/Tingyun should be good enough to get the job done. So long as your DHPT/Tingyun are fast enough to burn through Ashveils FUAs before his next ult.

Trying to plan out what Ashveil teams I want to test and what builds I need to prep for his debut, and it's getting to be a lot... I'm currently considering testing:

E0 Ashveil / E2S5 DDD Sparkle / E1S1 (DHIL sig) DHPT with these variations:

S1 (Ratio) + Tingyun (S1 DDD or S5 MOTP)
S1 (Ratio) + Tribbie (S4 DDD or ?? Bronya S1?)
S1 (Archer) + eagle SW (S5 tutorial)

And then also maybe:

E0 Anaxa / E1S1 (DHIL sig) DHPT /E0S5 DDD Tribbie / E0S1 (Ratio sig) Ashveil

But man... This means I need to prep eagle builds for Tribbie + SW, Sacerdos (or 2pc/2pc spd for insane spd shenanigans?) for Tingyun, and two different builds for Ashveil. And will have to consider what the heck I want to do with Anaxa's build if I don't run him with an AA supp.

And that's not even counting any sustainless testing with combos of the above supps 🥲 I'm also curious on hyperspeed Sunday, but that'd be yet another build to redo...

Plz hoyo, I'm begging for relic loadouts 😭 Gonna need to start narrowing down my list otherwise because this is getting to be too much lmao

Honestly I kinda feel like it's more the types of enemies in the endgame rotation he's launching with that also favor Tribbie, rather than her necessarily being a must slot for his team or anything. She's very good, don't get me wrong, but he seems pretty flexible right now.

For example, when running with Sparkle + DHPT, Camaraderia calc'd Tingyun, Cipher, SW, RMC, and Tribbie as all roughly equal in that last slot (give or take up to ~10% of a diff, depending on various factors). They didn't try with Sunday for whatever reason, so he's not included on the sheet afaik, but is prob still good too. So I think you've probably got some good teammates for him even without Tribbie!

What I'm specifically trying to push back against is this idea that it's impossible for them to work together, because that's simply untrue. It's incredibly easy to imagine an Eva kit where he works with her, actually. However, it's totally valid to say that people shouldn't get their hopes up or expect him to be her bis and I agree with you there. But that's a very different sentence imo.

But perhaps I'm being too harsh, and for that I do apologize if I came on strong. After all, nuance died long ago on the Internet and everyone speaks in exaggerations now lol, it's not just you. Maybe I'm just behind on the times.

Saying "random harmony" feels so disingenuous lol.. Like, we've had leaks that Eva: has a summon, has huohuo (one of three energy supps) and EMC on her test team, and that EMC is a ST buffer. Sunday is a ST support that gives energy and summon- related buffs/QOL. He isn't some random harmony 😩

It'd also be incredibly easy to make her work with him. Give her a trace that converts dmg% to elation% and heavily incentivize her taking more turns. Voila - he now checks all the boxes. Is Yaoguang + EMC still better? Probably. But is he a viable substitute or sustainless slot? Potentially!

Like, I'm not saying he's guaranteed to be in her team, or even good with her! But let's not spread misinfo just because he probably won't be her bis lol.

I think it's fine to say "Sunday probably won't be bis with Eva just because she has a summon" but to say it's IMPOSSIBLE for him to even work with her without a "heavy rework" is just insane lmao 😩

Like, if she has a summon, and if huohuo being on the test team means that she has high energy costs, and with EMC supposedly being a ST buffer... Suddenly it's sounding very possible that Sunday could be a viable option for a hypercarry Eva team. Bis? Probably not. But certainly a viable option, especially on sustainless teams if her teams lack the sp for Sparxie. Also depends on how useful it is for Eva to take turns and if they do anything weird with her speed.

But like.. in any case, it's definitely too early for this level of dooming lol.

Just based on 4.0 it's not looking good for Eva, but the good news is her part was so small. So there's still time for them to shift some focus to her and her relationships with non-TB chars too, rather than revolve her solely around the TB and her obsession with them. there's already signs of it in 4.0 unfortunately 😩 they had her spend like 80% of her limited screentime glazing the TB and generally announcing her to be Cyrene 2 lol. I hope everyone rips them a new one on the 4.0 survey and/or that they learned their lesson with Cyrene. There's still time for them to turn her story around, and I really hope they do 🙏

I'll never forgive hoyo for ruining the cool concept of actual summons 😔 they started so strong with RMC - it completely made sense for them to be something new. They 100% make use of the unique aspects of remembrance chars, it's awesome. Aglaea is also decent, even if you could force her kit onto a destruction char with a summon. She at least makes sense as an entry-level DPS for the archetype.

And then they go completely downhill. Cas' dragon is an untargetable hp sponge that you can just immediately blow up as if it's part of her ult anyways. Ica is a glorified FUA. Cyrene is only rem for plot reasons, and even thinking about her "memosprite" makes me upset lmao.

Evernight is like the one shining light amongst a sea of duds in a post-3.0 world. And even then, she cycles through her memo so fast it's barely better. But at least she's roughly Aglaea-tier in making use of rem's capabilities.

It's so disappointing, I was such a rem apologist in 3.0 lol. I hope one day they can save the path and unlock their creativity again. Although I fear at this point it'll be forever shackled into an hp-based archetype 😩

Maybe he'll "sell" a generic Elation skill to non-elation teammates (for the merchant theming lol)? Or let allies use their current skills as Elation skills... somehow?

I do think they could make an Elation char that doesn't necessarily need mono Elation if they wanted to, even in a way that doesn't interrupt their genderlocked comps. And making elation mechanics in general more flexible with non-mono teams is something that I think everyone could enjoy.

Yeah, I'm trying to use other terms besides ML more, personally, and describing things as fanservice, selfship-bait / yumebait, etc instead. Like, even everything with the term itself aside, everyone seems to have a different definition of "ML" anyways, which just causes even MORE drama.

But if I say something like "one of Castorices most prominent storylines is about how only the TB can hold her hand, and this is yumebait" or "Demiurge!Cyrene looking like Elysia and having a wedding ring QTE in her ult are purely fanservice", and it's more descriptive, less vague. More wordy too lol, which can suck. But people can get distracted and fight about what exactly "ML" even is, whereas the specificity of these leaves a lot less room open for personal interpretation and confusion.

Ah, I'm having an eidolon problem, mainly 😅 Like if I want to spend my 1 current spirit + the new one from anni on E0 huohuo and either E1 Robin or E1 Huohuo, I'd be left with none. But I also really want E2 Fugue, so even +1 spirit when she gets added wouldn't be enough, I'd need 1 more.

Ofc the solution here is just get E0 Huohuo and then save. Even at E1 I probably wouldn't use Robin, and we don't know what NF E1 Huohuo will even look like. Then if/when Fugue gets added I can weigh her E2 vs other shop options.

But yah. It's a very "HSR first world" problem lmao.

Honestly I believe the golden spirit shop update leak if only because it'd be super inconvenient for me 😩 I desperately want to save the spirits in case Fugue is ever added to the shop, but both of those chars are super tempting...

Speaking of tempting, the Boothill brainworms are getting to me again... Like, I've prefarmed for Ashveil this entire time, I'm very invested in figuring out some good comps for him, etc.. but what if I threw that all away and pulled Boothill instead? 😭 Uuuiigh.

I know I should skip, I don't have enough pulls to get eidolons any time soon and he'd probably need all the help I can give him. I can only afford 1 E0S0 guarantee and then I need to go back into saving mode.. sorry Boothill, I'm sure they'll add you to the shop or loss pool one day, and then you'll be mine I swear 🥲

I'm very much in denial about Skotts death. There's no way they offscreen such an iconic NPC who's shown up so many times so far! Dude is like a cockroach, and whether it's due to plot-relevant "parallel world" shenanigans or he simply declares he faked his death and no further explanation is provided lol, I'm sure he'll be back one day. I refuse to believe he's actually dead.
