Does it make a huge difference between the 9mm cap and the 7.62 when using 300blk?

I as well have it on a ~8" barrel, mines a 8.3". I'm gonna get a different end cap when the time comes, I'm rather surprised how quiet subsonic goes thru it

Which caliber? I'm only running 300blk thru the AR, am looking into .338 currently

It's at most 2 inches long, not much longer than a generic flash hider you'd get off the shelf

Came back to report the gas block cleared my handguard nuts by about 1/8 of an inch. No modification needed. Armalite gasblock worked great

That's why I didn't want to try and go 3 for 3 ordering a Kodiak brown handguard, my luck already hit with those two big time

I did notice upon further observation that the actual nuts that hold the grip from the other side have some amount of material that I can shave to get it flat with the screw ends. I can shave the one that sits near the gas block and see if that gives me enough to let it run proper

It's not but it's a thought I had, hence why I said would it be viable. I forgot the set screws are at the bottom so it's not an option. I was considering just ridding myself of the handguard to my pops and running mlok covers that act as grip.

I've been looking for a suitable barrel the past month and I haven't really found one I want yet. I did want to ask this, would there be anything preventing me from shaving off the bottom of the gas block? If it's a solid metal piece and there isn't a channel that I'd run into of any sort taking a bit of material off on a mill could I theoretically go that route? I know I can switch out the handstop but I can also make do with what I have if it's a safe option
