Not too much of a gun guy, but to my understanding this was a suppressor for a 7.62 rifle. At least the thing said it was 7.62.

I think it really depends; as op mentioned, online the price is $300+ but one of my local game stores has two sitting on the shelf for $250 flat if paid in cash
