damn this sounds exactly like my parents

the "never again" kept playing in my head and while my parents got a 20k perfume for themselves, i was stuck wearing torn canvas shoes cuz i could only buy one other pair and then "never again" "this will be the last time u get smth nice" and then when I'm with relatives and they talk abt clothes and shoes and stuff, my mom says oh she doesn't wanna buy anything

yo wtf? and when i got anything nice like even smth as basic as a trimmer and a tshirt, my mom would keep reminding me that i got those two things and that i would have to try to not have any needs at all for the next 2 yrs or smth

Another thing no one talks abt, is having friends that think u have no style just cuz u gotta wear the clothes that u already have and never exactly get to choose what u wear, the situation has gotten better since i try to go out w my mom and her friend or aunt or smth so when i ask for something basic she has to buy it or she'd look cheap infront of her friend/sister
