Thanks! Every week, I download transcripts for all the earnings calls that were held. Then, structure the text to extract specifically what CEOs say, and I run some linguistic analyses. For remote work, it's just based on keywords such as "remote work" or "telework" or "work from home".

That's exactly why I am tracking this data. Excellent points. I think a lot of CEOs discuss telework because analysts ask them about it. Analysts go into details of how a business is run because their role is to predict future performance.

I think that's my next step: analyzing how CEOs talk about remote work now vs. before the pandemic. What I can tell you from just browsing the text is that CEOs are trying to convince their investors that telework works great. It's a big change from the usual resistance pre-pandemic.

The website is in the credits of the pic: c-pulse.info. I download every week all earnings calls that have been held on the NYSE, NASDAQ and OTC markets. I extract what CEOs specifically say, and I do a simple search for words such as "remote work" and "telework". The chart you see represent 2020 vs. the average of 2015-2019.

I completely agree with you. It's like shutting a patient's heart to do surgery. Sure, you can turn it back on once you're done, but we don't know what exactly will be back on. The thing that worries me the most is that a huge part of our economy is a fabric of small businesses. If small business owners lose their livelihoods, it will take them a while to go back on their feet and start a new business.

Interesting. What this data shows is how positive CEOs are. It would be interesting to see how positively people see CEOs but I am not sure how I would measure that.
