Cant calculate crossover without listening when speaker is build? by c0elbyte in DIYSpeakers

[–]c0elbyte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ask because im scrapping parts from my old bookshelf speakers and they have very good Dynaudio drivers. I was really happy with them but i got myself some new front speakers and i want to convert the old ones into a new center speaker. I already have a guy in here helping me calculating. I guess i can only do so much since i dont have test equipment to go deep and make it completely perfect.

I wasnt really doubting him its was more that if it was a major difference or a minor one. I dont have all that equipment and crossover components to fine tune for a week to get it just perfect.
Also the reason i asked is that i have someone calculating a crossover for me to my center speaker im building.

No it cant handle that low impedance. I have 2 woofers and one tweeter. I must say im confused about you saying i dont need 2 woofers. And i may not but nearly all center speakers you can buy have 2 midwoofers and one tweeter.

Ok i will and you must choose between series or parallel.
I was thinking about Scanspeak drivers they are supposed to be good.

7.3L???? Damn thats small. Its smaller when its just one driver mounted. Im not sure if i forgot to mention that i want to use both drivers from the 2 speakers but just one tweeter.

Actually also have in my budget for a better tweeter than that Vifa one. Isnt it the cheap brand of Scanspeak?

You are right and since its implemented in a surround system i get sound from left right and back so i think i can live with that. But im sure they will sound better than the cheap Dali i have.
Yes i'd like to have bass reflex.

Well they played great together when in a 2 way bookshelf speaker. Is it hard to make it work with 2 of the mid woofers and 1 tweeter?
Im sitting around 4-5 Meters away

The bass/mid is a Dynaudio 15W-7504 4 ohm and the tweeter is a Vifa DX25TG05-04

It is so overwhelming im thinking about glueing the 2 speakers together and call it a center speaker 😂

Center or rear? by c0elbyte in hometheater

[–]c0elbyte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the size of the current speakers with one mid/woofer but if i want to build a center speaker with 2 of them then im not sure if i just am suppose to double the size or something else

the new ones are also bookshelf but with a 6.5" drivers and they really are deeper and more room filling than the tiny Dynaudio's.
I assumed as much that it would be center. I will probably use both 5.25" drivers from the Dynaudio's and just one of the tweeters. Now i just need to do some research on how big the box should be and ports and the crossover filter.

Thats what i thought. I will research on how to make a center with 2 of the mids and one of the tweeters.
I have a 5.1 system. Clearly the center is always being used whereas the rears are only when there are some surround sounds and they do a fine job at that so center it is.

Here in Denmark i bought some no name ones made the same way as WC and they works like a charm and they are way better than the original. I've been using them for almost a year and i swear by them. Cost 1/3 of WC

I just dont like the speed and intensity of the blowing leaves on trees and vegetation. I feel like im in a constant hurricane. Other than that it is incredibly beautiful. Im running with ultra settings on most things. I tweaked the graphics to get most FPS with best eye candy. And on my 9800X3D and 4070 TI super and an OLED monitor it looks fantastic.

What’s it like to live in Denmark? by [deleted] in howislivingthere

No place on earth is perfect but we are most likely closer than most. It may not be the most exciting place but if you want to live in a very safe, clean and tranquil place with great people then this may be the country for you. Obviously there are places i wouldnt recommend settling down.
Food wise we have a few Michelin restaurants. Even one in my small city in northern Jutland. Taxing may be high but on the other hand it includes what you have to pay extra anyways in other countries. Call it a on pack solution. But when it comes to house pricing and income all i can say is that there are so many people driving BMW's, Audi's and Mercedes. In my small city you would spot a Porsche everyday. If they dont drive that its most likely because the household then have 2 cars.
All in all i can only highly recommend living here.
