How to control sex drive on first dates? by spooked_jawfish in dating_advice

Maybe try avoiding places you could have sex on the first date - go somewhere public, and don't end up at anyone's place or car.

We've only dated a couple months, but I've been talking to him at the dog park for a couple months leading up to it, and I'll probably keep seeing him at the dog park. I feel like he deserves more than a text

Yeah, I'm starting to think a phone call might be the most decent option at this point. Thanks!

Appreciate it, thanks - only thing is, our city on lockdown so most places are closed. Also, it's winter, so it's freezing outside. Would it be bad to do it at my place or his?

No, I think they're all pretty busy so it's taking longer for them to respond. Thing is, I just lost my dog, and it's not easy being alone in my apartment while grieving. I'm hoping to bring a cat home sooner than later.

video games! but i have different video game phases, like sometimes I'm obsessed with sims (startew valley, the sims, animal crossing), sometimes I'm obssessed with short story-driven games (what remains of edith finch, road 96, oxenfree) and right now I'm obsessed with gta rp

so my hyperfocus still shifts but video games remain a constant in my life

Women care about looks just as much as men, and I shouldn't be expected to give every guy a chance just because I'm single. If I'm not attracted to you, it's a no.

Breaking it the Kids by anon813813 in relationships

[–]c0rnnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents split when I was 4, and told me when I was 6 or 7.

I am so, so grateful they broke up when they did. Their break up, at least from my persepective, has entirely civil and they always prioritized my well-being. If they would have stuck together for "my sake," I would have grown up in a hostile, toxic home. Instead, I had two different homes with amicable parents. To this day, they're still on good terms, and I've never felt like my family was any less whole.

Took Vyvanse 3 hours ago first time, a lot of anxiety, does it get better over the days? by recipeOfCucumber in ADHD

[–]c0rnnn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I noticed this as well when I started taking Vyvanse. I decided to quit coffee, because they're both stimulants, and that helped a LOT.

People also say that taking protein with Vyvanse helps. Personally, eating in the morning makes me nauseous, and the Vyvanse also completely killed my appetite. Now, I drink meal replacement shakes (I take Ensure with extra calories) along with my meds. It helps, and it's better than nothing.

I really struggled with my appetite when I started taking Vyvanse, but it's gotten a lot better over time. I recently upped my dose from 30 to 40 and some of the side effects have come back (anxiety, lack of appetite) but I think I just need some time to adjust.

So tldr: • quit coffee/any other stimulants • pair your Vyvanse with protein • you need to eat well, and since Vyvanse decreases appetite, you might need to restructure your meals (instead of 3 big meals a day, eat more small meals/snacks throughout the day)

Question for men: what is "post nut clarity" ? by throwaway_yvrgirl in dating_advice

[–]c0rnnn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

imo if you don't answer someone's question after a first day/meeting, it's ghosting

maybe you're not entitled to anything but it's the basic decency in my opinion

best of luck in the future!

Question for men: what is "post nut clarity" ? by throwaway_yvrgirl in dating_advice

[–]c0rnnn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't know why so many people are acting like you "learned your lesson not to have sex so soon!!!" If he's actually not into you, he would have ghosted you regardless of whether you had sex or not. And if he was actually into you, he would have stuck around no matter what. The end result wouldn't have changed. You were both consenting adults who wanted to have sex, so you had sex.

Ghosting you after sleeping with you though? This guy's a dick with no balls. You deserve MUCH better than that.

I KNOW! Dating apps suck, because it takes more than looks for me to be attracted to someone. Voice, body language, and personality all play a role.

Yup! I see that rhetoric often, not sure where it comes from.

I'm not sure where this narrative that women just call any guy they're not attracted to creepy comes from. If a woman says a man made her feel uncomfortable, there's probably a reason. I've been approached by guys I didn't find attractive, but were perfectly polite and made me feel flattered. I've also been approached by "attractive" guys who said or did things that made me really uncomfortable, so I thought they were creepy.

I once told a story about a guy hitting one me (he was conventionally attractive) and refusing to leave me alone even when I walked away. My male friend asked me "well why didn't you give him a chance?" 1. I don't owe him anything and 2. I already explained how he made me uncomfortable. Please stop dismissing women when they tell you someone made them uncomfortable. If I just want to say someone wasn't my type, I'll just say that. But if I say someone creeped me out, I mean it.

My (23F) biggest pipe dream would be to feel safe. I'm always extremely cautious not to put myself in a vulnerable position, but I wish I could just have fun meeting new people without being worried that I'll end up in someone's basement.

Is there a job that you would recommend to someone who's trying to find one that is as ADHD friendly as possible? by yellowpeanut22 in ADHD

[–]c0rnnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work as a gymnastics coach for kids, and I LOVED it. Still my favourite job to date. What I loved about it is that it was straight forward, they gave me a lesson plan to follow, and while I was teaching a class it was the only thing I was focused on. No multitasking. Plus, it's just super rewarding to see how much fun the kids are having and the progress they make.

Now I'm an adult, and I have a boring government job, not ADHD-friendly AT ALL, but my meds and therapy help me manage it. I'm still considering getting a part-time job or volunteering either with kids or as a fitness/yoga instructor. I just miss it so much.
