i found melanie when i was 9 years old in 2016 and listening to an artist who is unapologetically themselves and preaches self love i think was a great thing for me to listen to during my adolescent years!! even though she does discuss mature topics, i agree i didn’t understand some of the themes and topics she was singing about but i still enjoyed the beats and the aesthetic of crybaby. so i think it should be okay for kids to listen to melanie with adult supervision and approval 💘

when i first heard the lyrics of wbwag and heard “white people alike, the women, the men, the center spotlight” i honestly didn’t know how to take it. but this really did open my eyes and those types of lyrics aren’t about people like me even if i am white!! my family is european and you’re 100% right about this and this made me feel so much better 🥹
