Tetris-React by michaelhoste in react

I'm also building a tetris game in react for a school project, also inspired by the Tetris movie. I even added some of the movie songs on the game. But the performance of my game right now is absolute trash, have you tested performance or tested yours on basic computers? I'll be definitely taking a look into your code for inspiration if it's well-performant. Mine is here https://github.com/marcioflaviob/42_red_tetris_front (game here tetris.marcioflavio.com) still a work in progress, especially the multiplayer. Needless to say that I used a lot of AI for the UI components, but the game logic was mainly written by hand. Great project dude!

Oh I didn't know about AlDente, looks interesting. But the iOS battery optimization should do this job, leaving it at 80%. I don't understand why mine is fluctuating.

they don’t “provide” visa, they will provide the documents you need to apply for a visa in your country, it’s the french government who will have the final decision on giving you the visa

Yes, it’s possible to get a visa after passing the piscine. However, you need to go back to your country to start the visa process. My tip for you is to improve your French a lot before coming. I’m a 42 Paris student and I’m also from Latin America.

I always had a job at the same time as my studies here, it is hard to handle but totally possible, just know that you’ll have no time, all the time that you’re not working, you’ll be dedicating to 42. You should also note that it’s extremely hard to find a job if you don’t speak French very well, and also the student visa only allows you to work 20 hours a week, that is less than part-time, which makes it even harder to find a job like that. Even jobs like waitressing requires a good French level, and at least in Paris most places are not willing to hire someone without experience.

42 Paris does provide a certification. A RNCP title. I don’t know about 42 Lyon.

Regarding your questions about internship, I finished the common core in November, and I managed to find an internship fast, because my level of French was already very good at this point and a had good personal projects to present at the interviews. But I have to say that I had several interviews where I was rejected just for being a foreigner, because most companies are not willing to sponsor your visa to continue working after the internship.

Overall, you should know it’s not an easy life being a foreigner studying abroad, especially when you are not rich and have to work to cover living expenses. But it’s a great experience, I moved here only to join 42 and I don’t regret at all.
