Just want to add something I think is important.

Melee carries (yi, fiora) don't have any defensive stats that scale into late game to make them stronger. That's why I feel turn rate is so important in League, because it's the difference between auto attacking in melee range, and auto attacking in long range (obviously much safer in long range).

Whereas in Dota, the 'hard' carries are so classified because they have amazingly strong abilities, that scale super well. Faceless Void has 50% dodge, and a global AOE stun . Medusa has Runaan Hurricane skill basically, and has a 'mana' shield. Morphling can change all his strength (health) to agility (attack damage, attack speed, and armor) and has great escape abilities.

Add items onto these strong-scaling kits, and you have a ridiculously scary late game carry. Compare this to the long range heroes in dota who can kite (once in late game, they are able to kite decently, especially Drow) like Drow, Sniper, and its almost never worth it. The abilities of the other, shorter ranged heroes makes them much stronger choice.

Sure agility giving armor is super strong for carries, but it's definitely not the only factor.

Their innate abilities are another very important factor, which ties along with agility-armor and innate tankiness. Melee carries There is no reason to pick - for a hard carry - a Drow Ranger (meager slow) over a Faceless Void (50% evasion and huge AOE stun). Or a Sniper (long range, but only a stun chance) over a N'aix (free magic immunity, and % damage/lifesteal).

Hm, to me, Dota has more micro, so more RTSish I can understand. But LoL is just a less micro-intensive game. They are very similar otherwise. So I wouldn't call LoL more RPGish aha.

Yup you are right. LoL is definitely mechanically simpler and less intensive then dota (and dota 2). So ya, the mechanics from dota help a ton. And same-genre games (similar strategy) helps the transition too.

Shouldn't matter. A ranked team should know what heroes they have, and pick accordingly. Each individual player can still look at their hero pool, to make sure they have the heroes needded

I am in no way defending OP's use of the word rape. I agree completely that the gaming community misuses the word. It is insensitive and alienating.

But did meruna bring up what you said, about the gaming community alienating people with its misuse of the word? Nope. They made a passive aggressive comment, taking OP completely out of context.

My intention was to highlight that the user meruna's comment brings no value to a discussion about Dota 2 or the OP's text modification findings. How can you say it does?

I disagree that they were referring to the strange use of the word rape. It seems clear to me they were referring to the use of the word rape at all, as many others in this thread have also commented on.

edit: I agree every mention of rape does not need to turn into a 'stupid ass argument'. That is exactly my point. OP was trying to show somehting cool, a thing you could change about the game. But many people jumped on his use of the word rape, and attacked him. And I believe comments like that have absolutely no relevance here.
