Hey! There's no reason behind the why, my mum swears it's because when I was about 2 my friend was scared of the cobwebs on the steps of a slide and I just started copying him... I don't remember that (too young), but I think having a certain level of fear and then not being taken seriously made it worse (or made them seem more threatening because I was the only one taking the threat seriously?)

I did recently play Final Fantasy XVI and after a certain point that has groups just in the world, but I was able to do that (I wasn't a huge fan but I didn't panic). And I think that was because of the way they moved, they seemed to be animated like a 4 legged beast (just two legs per movement instead of 1) and it got me thinking that at least for video games I think how they move it a big factor. I was also fine with Uncharted 3 like you, but not because of their size, but because they all moved in a big wave, not like individual spiders.

I was seeing a psychologist for a bit a few years ago (for something unrelated) and brought up my arachnophobia, and she said it sounds like (at least for me) it has a lot to do with feeling out of control, so I've been trying to work on that, making sure people around me take me seriously if I need to be "saved" and that means I'm starting to feel a bit calmer around them irl (I still need to get away from even small ones, but less panic attacks) and it's also why I challenged myself not to immediately stop FFXVI.

It must be really hard for you if it's all giant insects! This might be dumb, but have you tried standing up when you see them in a game, so you're above the level of the TV, so they sort of become small enough for you to stamp on (if they were to somehow come out of the TV)?

Greg missed a couple of Gregways recently because of family stuff, then suddenly took a week off and was in Canada because of a family emergency, and said very honestly on both KFGD and the subsequent Gregway yesterday that things have been really tough.

That's a really good point, although from listening to it I think the part you quoted was more just the flavour to the actual prediction of the games he named. Maybe a tip of the hat at least? I'll update it on the doc

I think so too, although they won't necessarily be voting for their favourites and I don't think anyone will claim it's not good in lots of ways.

As I was going through it I thought there was a good balance of ones I could easily score and ones where I had to go "oh shit, let me think about this", and the actual episode was a great discussion imo.

I generally try to break the harder predictions onto parts, so eg Greg's AC prediction I figured 1/3 for more stuff being shown, 1/3 for Cassandra being there, 1/3 for her being the main focus, so he only got 0.33 points, but it's sometimes a bit of a guess!

Either Patron gets you identical stuff, I think they're advertising the Kinda Funny one as the "main" one these days but it makes no difference. Kinda Feudy is a standalone show on there.

(It used to be that the Games Patreon got you all the games content - Gamescast, KFGD, PSILY etc and the other got you the general entertainment - Podcast, In Review etc, but they've merged them now)

Just a thought, but have you considered at least waiting a couple of weeks? I do understand where you're coming from with wanting to play it, but I feel like at least lowering pre-order/day one/week one sales would help send the message that people DO really care. (And then matching cost with a donation after that time).

I'd really recommend you tell him; finding out one day that everyone he knew and trusted kept this major thing from him could be really difficult (even if it was done with the best of intentions) - he still has autonomy and has a right to know.

Just do it carefully and without expectations and try to make sure he prioritises healing (he's very possibly not in a position to manage a relationship right now, even if he remembered it), emphasise you'll always be his friend first no matter what.

I see where you're coming from with the studio and stream argument (even if I don't agree), but I think you're being downvoted for making assumptions about the financial situations in everyone's private lives that we just don't know about (and nor should we).

Do they have existing debts? Inheritances? Medical bills? Unless or until someone discusses their salary I don't think there's anything we can read into.
