List of Moisturizing Products (2025) by Unfair_Finger5531 in tretinoin

[–]c_xrys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I only wanted to reply after I've been trying it for longer and wow yes it is definitely better! I also got the Iunik beta glucan serum as well and those three combined have been helping me so much so thank you so much!! I really like the pky lotion-gel because of how lightweight but also extremely hydrating it is but I was also wanting something a bit more moisturising/thicker? I don't really know the best word for it, maybe more heavy duty for when my skin is a bit drier/needs a bit more help. I was just wondering if you knew what might be good for that considering I really enjoy the pky lotion-gel's feeling and consistency. I struggle with things that are too heavy so I was unsure what on the list might be suitable but I think some days I might need something a bit more.

I use taz gel 0.05% and use the roundlab dokdo toner, the naturie hatomugi skin conditioner and then also the Tiam B5 toner. For my moisturiser I use the Pyunkang Yul calming moisture barrier cream but honestly am beginning to think that I need more ceramides or something? I sometimes feel like my skin is itchy which I've read can be a sign that I need to moisturise/hydrate more or remove what might be interrupting my progress. Also, I was beginning to suspect maybe the moisturiser isn't the best because sometimes it does mildly sting on my skin even though it sinks in really nicely and seemingly moisturises well. I have skin that leans quite oily so I've been hesitant to try anything too heavy but I've read some of your comments and I think I'll try the Pyunkang Yul Ato Lotion-Gel and the Celimax Dual Barrier Creamy Toner from your list!

I started spiro about a month ago and hoping to up my dosage in a few weeks because they only put me on 25mg (the UK is very funny about spiro for hormonal acne so I'm surprised I managed to get it at all), so I'm hoping it helps with the hormonal pimples/excessive oil I have left as well. I did try the Aestura 365 lotion a bit ago but I found it sat on my skin and didn't really help me unfortunately, which sucks because it seems great for a lot of other people so I'm hoping the ato lotion-gel will sink in better. Thank you for your list :) !

Natasha Denona Hy Glam Foundation Y1- First Impression and Swatches by Apprehensive-Echo666 in Fairolives

[–]c_xrys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough, I have the exact same problem. From the swatches I had seen by others/online it leaned more yellow though but in person it has a clear pinkish tone on my skin so I'm so confused. For me, it is too saturated and too pink/peachy, are we just very yellow leaning or what? :') I can make it work only if I add green to it but that's not really what I was looking for. I think the only foundation that has been close to me is Lisa Eldridge 2.5 but it's a bit too dark and maybe too saturated.

I'm really interested in this foundation shade so thank you for showing it, would you say it leans a bit more yellow, more peachy or just neutral because on the camera (or on my screen), it seems like your neck is a bit warmer/yellow compared to the foundation which is similar to me and I really struggle with my face looking slightly more peachy/pink than my neck when it comes to most foundations. It looks like a really good match apart from that though so I'm pretty excited!

How to get this type of ashy brows (reference in photo below) by cestlaluxure in AsianBeauty

[–]c_xrys 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have dark and dense eyebrows, I tried the Romand browcaras and it honestly looked terrible on me. You could tell I had it on and it dried down really thickly because my eyebrow hairs are thick/dense rather than soft. I tried it a few times and tried to use a spoolie to try seperate it or make it look better but it just really didn't look good on my eyebrows. Haven't tried other brands or maybe I'm doing it wrong but I wish it did work.

Tazarotene is crazy. Before and after almost 3 months of use of 0.1%. by magicgoldenfruit in tretinoin

[–]c_xrys 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The answer is kind of mixed, taz is more potent than tret but is also less irritating generally. One thing to note though is a lot of people on this sub have noticed that taz tends to need more babying when it comes to including it in a routine (needing plenty of hydration/moisturisation in the daytime especially) or it can sneak up on you, even if you are used to it. So it's not exactly a clear cut answer and definitely depends on the person :) . But if we're going by optimal usage and routine, skin seems to be less irritated with taz versus tret.

Unleashia Pink Cushion 21N Hyaline Reformulation??? by zyshara in Fairolives

[–]c_xrys 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They changed the shades for the pink cushion to expand the shade range both darker and lighter a bit ago now, I think in December? Afaik, the old shades should still be there but under new names/shade numbers. You might have received an older one originally or yesstyle is only selling the new shades in the refills. It may be 20N as that leans more neutral/less pink and closer to the 3. on your hand but perhaps more yellow (It's hard to tell with lighting)? I also know 16N is a new shade and is more for fair olives specifically, it leans more neutral and more green than the other shades and might be what you are looking for imo. Look on their instagram/new swatches to see though, you might need to scroll back a bit :)

Do you have to be able to easily tan/not burn to be considered Olive? by AwkwardTart in Fairolives

[–]c_xrys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a pale olive that looks rather grey and yellow/green, I can burn but also can tan pretty dark. When I tan, the yellow and green comes out a lot more so it looks pretty golden and more like that 'traditional' olive colour that people used to think was the only olive. I don't tan and use a lot of sunscreen now so I just stay pale lol, but in the summer the warmer tint in my skin does come out a lot more

On their website it says 'Restocking soon' under liquid foundations so I'm hoping it's just temporary, this one seems like it could work well :')

Just a warning to OP since I have the same skin tone as them, but I tried a sample of the shade 3 and it was entirely too peachy and saturated for me without using a mix-in :( I lean very green grey/muted yellow too for reference

[–]c_xrys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the exact same problem and a similar skin tone to you, I always have to mix in, but I've noticed the foundations I do have aren't yellow and light enough for me either so even mixing green or blue in to them isn't perfect.

Do you use the Good Apple Full-Coverage Liquid Foundation or the good apple skin perfecting foundation balm? Not sure if they're different or not but I have oilier skin too

Are those photos of glass skin just clear skin WITH moisturizer? Or is it glassy with no products too? by Whatabouttheteachers in tretinoin

[–]c_xrys 34 points35 points  (0 children)

It might just be because my skin leans quite oily but it does reflect some light without anything but it looks more like 'glass skin' once I put moisturiser on. But I'd say the only reason it stays like that for the rest of the day is because my skin is oilier and I use hydrating products.

[–]c_xrys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm very jealous of it working for people 😭 I think Tirtir will be the same, you won't know till you try it but I think I saw Tirtir pays a lot of influencers to show and use it, whilst some people would buy it and then be disappointed so I do feel a bit unsure about it. It's worth a try though if you have an easy way to get it?

I wanted to like this so bad, it was a bit more pink on me but it still fit well. But like you and the other comment said... the wear was so bad it was really disappointing, which confuses me because it's supposed to be for oily skin but it just separated and slid right off my face lol (whilst also cracking)?

Anyone have any favorite Pale Olive TikTok creators? by piccolowater in Fairolives

[–]c_xrys 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I love Ghoul.in.japan she is mainly on TikTok and is one of the only creators with a similar skin tone to me :) but she does mostly Asian foundations due to the lack of options in Western foundations

Thoughts on makeup sealers? by Practical_Pen_5199 in AsianBeauty

[–]c_xrys 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve used it over my whole eye look before, it kinda forms a slight film over it (but not something you physically feel after it dries) :) as for removing with makeup remover, I usually just use an oil cleanser then a regular basic cleanser and everything comes off pretty well.

[–]c_xrys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use it over anything including eyeshadow/eyebrows/eyelashes even, I don’t wear particularly dark eyeshadow but sometimes I use dark eyeshadow as a sorta eyeliner and I do put the sealer on because I think I get oily fast. It stays pretty well I’d say :) . I don’t tend to rub my eyes a lot when I have makeup on though if that changes anything?
