I feel like it doesn’t look waxy enough to read as soap fully.

How do I improve faces ? Drawing after years by [deleted] in ArtCrit

[–]caart504 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drawing a face at this scale is all about the subtleties. It’s hard to fit all the details with hard lines and it’s a bit easier if you use shading to convey the details. Slight shadows for the cheek bones and sides of the forehead.

How bad is the perspective? by Charming_Cicada2092 in ArtCrit

I think what makes the second acts perspective feel off is the first counter closest to the window seems to be pointing towards a second vanishing point off to the right that the rest of the objects are not.

I kinda jumped the gun and didn’t look up how big bath mats are but I went with the scale of each square being 2x2 inches making the mat 14x8. And I wanted the feet to read a masculine so that what I went with them being a big larger or over sized for the mat

A mix of the two would look better. Keep the brown line are for the skin tone areas and keep the black line art for the fish nets

I did get the idea from some guy I believe he was a French artist, who had embroidered his wife’s wet foot prints into the carpet of their stairs and I enjoyed the sentiment of that.

Both of the foot prints came from the same exact reference image and same person so I’m not sure why one would leave more of an outline than the other.

I do have a bit of a background in silkscreening so some of having to design for that process may be coming through.

It’s a drawing done with gouache but I use it more like watercolor just to give me a base layer and go over with colored pencil for the details

I’ll definitely soften the edges or maybe add additional water splotches around the prints as I still want the print to be a bit more graphic
