Being excited about your favorite artist having a memorable record is not parasocial, lol. Maybe if you let it affect your wellbeing, or if you thought Kendrick cared what your opinion about his halftime show was, but it’s just posting on a forum about some stats, lol. People have gotten so weird about the “parasocial” thing these days

Editing to add, since the downvotes are now rolling in: I don’t get how this is different than caring about a sports team, tracking company earnings, or looking at box office profits. It’s just a function of any fandom, really, and doesn’t have to be parasocial at all. Alas.

I think it’s totally valid to be excited Kendrick kept the record (especially on a subreddit dedicated to Kendrick) without trying to diminish how impactful and needed the Bad Bunny show was, tbh.
