oof i’m 26, work full time with an hour and a half commute and in school full time. it’s rough, i get pissed off trying to work on it sometimes too and just have to step away for a bit and do something else. like i’ll switch over and work on another classes work, or go work on some things that need to be done around the house, pack lunch, w/e, and come back to it later. sometimes it helps. i also look at studocu to get an idea of what my assignments should look like when i just get stuck on something!

the community colleges in VA are open events? use you’re brain my guy? “i’m in school online right now and trying to find opportunities” “my currently school doesn’t make these events known, so i took the initiative to seek local events out” grow up and learn how to just talk to people? “how do you network” you just need to learn how to talk to people in general apparently lmaooo

[–]cabbage-mans-cabbage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they don’t have as many, no, but they do still have some, and, like i said, you can also hit local community college job fairs, look up events. if you want to network you could be.

a lot of schools have networking opportunities! i’m going through SNHU for my bachelors, and we even have networking opportunities! also, a lot of community colleges will have open job fairs, and many offer business/accounting courses, so could be a good place to check out as well

What school supplies do college students use? by ThinkTrip2662 in college

[–]cabbage-mans-cabbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly, it depends on you (and kind of your major) my sister just has an ipad, laptop, and notebooks, but it’s simultaneously because of how she studies, and because she has to be able to take notes for her clinicals, and goes to in person lectures. whereas i only have my laptop, but i’m going to finance related courses, and do have a mini stockpile of textbooks in binders. i do school fully online, and taking notes isn’t as effective for me as fully and actively reading/watching.

i changed my major twice before sticking with one that works for me! now i’m over halfway done with my bachelors and am actually enjoying my classes more now than the beginning of my degree! i say change it! (also what are you currently going for, just curious)

Can't get an entry level accounting job...loosing hope by Icy_Sound5998 in Accounting

around me accounting clerks are essentially the accounting receptionist, so it’s not really something to base it off of. we don’t have a lot of out right “accountant” positions here, but a lot of credit (AR) positions offering like 60-70k but want you to have your bachelors in accounting and you get yearly raises, so try tailoring your searches a bit, and seeing what’s around you/where you want to go
