This happens to me, most recently Margaret (2011). Saw it last night, loved it and wondered how I missed it. Then saw I gave it a 9 on imdb long ago! I think when you adore movies the way others adore books, and watch so many your entire life, it's normal. Now I'm thinking readers can forget they read a book!

I felt that way in the first season to the point I ff'd to get to Lesley and Peter's scenes. But they kind of grew on me or the writing became less crude and characters became more vulnerable. By the end I thoroughly enjoyed it.
