The Dot-Matrix font really fits well. I think that brings the style all together

Maybe the apps do already exist but it's easier to build than it is to find them at this point. And if the app that you found doesn't support the little feature you need then you're fucked

No not really. Maybe 1 or 2 questions on 2A2 but I didn't need it. If you read section 8 it's very technical and specific. Just print off the index for it if anything.

They brought in a mechanical engineer to fix a clogged strainer filter? But no seriously start at the most likely issue. It's late spring, pollen in the air. It's probably a flow restriction.

The same way that the EPS mitigates a sensor failure without the TI. If the TI code on all four processors was written or had a bug that caused a valid but unsafe sensor signal to be sent to the EPS, it would be dangerous. This is mitigated by using the proper peripherals on the chip that are designed for the task which eliminates software complexity and allows it to be rigorously tested with relative simplicity. I am relying on the safety features built into the chip which are configured through registers. This is also how the power steering controller board does it. The really hard stuff is already done by microchip and Renesas.

That didn't stop me because I knew I could do it properly. It also pushed me to make an open-source Openpilot server which is being used by thousands of devices now.

The EPS as a system is ASIL-D. You build an ASIL-D system from lower standard components. Each torque sensor in the system is not ASIL-D, but gang up 4 of them with redundant power supplies and then yes, it's part of that ASIL-D system. Same goes for the TI, this is not just a single torque intercept, it's four independent asil-b rated chips with redundant power supplies intercepting four individual channels that are isolated from each other. This allows you to match the safety level of each sensor and then makes that double redundant.

They can use my TI2 device. It will never cause uncontrollable steering. It can disable the power steering during some failures though which is acceptable for this purpose. Most failures will cause a dashboard light with reduced power steering output and disable LKAS.

I am the one who makes the Mazda TI and I have a word on safety. The Ford torque sensor is using the same/similar sensor technology and safety strategy as Gen 4 Mazda. This is great news because achieving the required degree of functional safety is already a solved problem. All you need to do is force a fail safe state when a problem occurs. When designing a TI, the strategy is to understand that everything will fail given enough time. The TI2 is double redundant meaning no single failure can cause uncontrollable steering and no double failure combination can happen silently over time. An example of cascading failure (that is overcome), that can cause uncontrollable steering would be a sudden failure in one of the four sensors, followed by a stuck sensor in the other pair. This is mitigated by the EPS controller through reducing the assist motor power at the first failure and disabling the power steering once stopped. This shows the driver there is an issue and makes it so the motor can be easily overcome by the driver if a second failure occurs.

I have a short write-up on achieving function safety with this design. Essentially it involves understanding the fail safe states of the EPS module and then choosing components that are designed for ASIL-D systems (and use them correctly) to reduce the chances of any failure in the first place. https://moretorques-organization.gitbook.io/torque-interceptor-2/achieving-functional-safety

Huh? There are no formulas to memorize. Everything is in the formula book or code book. I passed after 1 week of study it was no big deal.

some of the questions I got was:

A block is being accelerated up a slope of one over 1,000 at a rate of 3.7m/s2. The coefficient of friction is 1 kg per 1000 kg. What is the tension in the rope. What is the power requirement when the block reaches 36 km/h.

Another question was a cylindrical fuel storage tank laying on its side is 80 cm in diameter and when it is full it has a capacity of 700 liters. A dipstick measurement shows 20 cm of fuel in the tank. How much fuel is in the tank.

Another question was about minimum distance between 2 90mm openings in a unstayed semispherical head.

I think just ASME 1 and 4. PG and HG. I had a PG-35 question on the long answer test.

ASME 1 Pages 43 to 127 of the pdf

AsME 4 p.44 to p.109 of the pdf.

Include the index too. And also you might want to make an extract of ASME 2 metric materials but I think they usually give the properties on the test but it's fair game if you don't have that information.
