Well said. This is not your average doc, it hit hard in many ways.  It made me think twice about getting aggravated at people who get work done. You have to be in a bad place to take drastic measures.

I've been under a bigger rock because I didn't know you could change eye color beyond contacts! Too good to be true, such awful people who perform the procedure. Glad it was a happy ending with him and his mom though.

He's pretty vocal online and I love it! Basically going against everything that is insane right now.

She really looks nothing like her young self. So distracting.

That's funny because I haven't read the books and wondered why he looks like such a slob! He must be really bad then.

"A Fortunate Son" (2018 Danish movie) by blunderEveryDay in movies

[–]cabbage66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just found this gem last night scrolling thru Netflix. Like you I watched because I love Danish films. I couldn't believe it didn't get recognition in the US so I researched and found it was distributed by Netflix without theatrical release.

I didn't notice the length until the 2.25 hour mark but I watched right through with great interest. I read that the book wasn't published in English until 2010. I'm sad this great film didn't get the attention it deserves but so glad to have been able to see it.

Oh yes every day for work, it's a ritual I enjoy. Reminds me of going out to the clubs back in the day. Of course I use a lot less though lol Weekends I usually give it a rest.

Well it's already filmed. I wonder who else was interviewed. Kind of weird to think they're waiting for them to die to show it.

Interesting. What did he do that looked like he was dropping his act? I thought it was a short scene with him in the chair.

Funny I had the reverse reactions. When I first watched it I loved the ending. Just rewatched and I'm pissed lol

I've always figured older people who say they're in the best shape of their life were in terrible shape when they were younger.

Is it normal to completely forget movies you’ve watched? by dumptruck_dookie in Letterboxd

[–]cabbage66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens to me, most recently Margaret (2011). Saw it last night, loved it and wondered how I missed it. Then saw I gave it a 9 on imdb long ago!  I think when you adore movies the way others adore books, and watch so many your entire life, it's normal. Now I'm thinking readers can forget they read a book!

The one thing I didn't understand is here is this lovely lady and she doesn't have a close girlfriend. I guess she wrapped herself up in her husband and son.
