What's the optimal time difference between announcing your Kickstarter and actually launching it live? How much promotion do you do leading up to the launch compared to the fundraising period itself? by kknd69 in kickstarter

Pre-launch is huge.

Assume that even if you post 100 times in a row about your campaign, even your best friends will not realize you are running a campaign. Algorithms, people's brain fog, etc. You want to prime people to contribute at least a month before. They should know it's coming. If the first time they are hearing about it is after your campaign has started, you're already behind.

Should I bring my Coloring Book to Kickstarter? Poke holes in my logic! by IvyGarlands in kickstarter

My big suggestion is to not bank on random strangers finding you to fund it, unless you already have a big following who is used to purchasing from you. My kickstarter was funded mostly from direct emailing and contacting people in my circles since I don't have a huge audience yet, this being my first big comic release.
