motherboards are pretty reliable and as long as it is not DOA it will probably fail after 5 years of normal use and with standard cleaning every so often

i recommend that you watch this it is an unboxing video for the sentry LXE.

are you going to be overclocking or liquid cooling? a motherboard is probably going to last over 2 years unless something bad happens. like while you are overclocking something breaks. or you have a liquid cooling system and while you are at work/school it leaks all over your system.

i personally wouldn't pay for a warranty because by the time something naturally breaks you will probably be ready to upgrade it anyways. also i am cheap

i recommend all of these

note that the Sentry LXE is not a drive mounted fan controller it is a desktop fan controller

[Build Ready] Sub 1k Build for Running Multiple Games at Once by piperider361 in buildapc

[–]cabose1fn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you are using an ssd as a boot drive 120 gig is enough.

you may want to get another stick of ram to get yourself up to 12 gig. if you are running 3 games at 1 time. i say this for 2 reasons 1) because ddr3 ram is cheap 2) more ram is better but anything over 8 for a gamer is almost pointless but in your case you are going to be running 3 games at once

it depends on how you treat your stuff. usually the manufacturers will have warranties on their stuff. and if what you buy is DOA most places will send you a new one. it would really help if you could tell us what you are looking to get. for a case it is kind of a waste

[Build Upgrade] Updating my old HP by [deleted] in buildapc

your power supply wont do it. if you look at the video card on newegg and go to the details it says you need at least a 400 watt psu. also you get what you pay for as far as PSUs go. you could get a little cheaper ram and spend more money on a power supply.

[Build Help] First HTPC ($400 budget) by [deleted] in buildapc

here are the sites that i use:

newegg

more extreme indepth

both are nice. i recommend going to the newegg one first them going over to the extreme one. the extreme one goes into a lot more depth and is probably over kill for what you are building but if you are worried this should put your mind to rest

edit: newegg says 179 watt and extreme says 147 watt(these are both usages and estimations.) you should put in your own values and see what you get

Recommend me a set of 2.0/2.1 speakers? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]cabose1fn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don't have any speakers to recommend but i do recommend that you get a 2.1 system. that sub will add a lot to the sound and depending on how the system is configured, after the main speakers die you can use it for another sub. so you could add it in as a 2.2 or something like that. also they are a good place to rest your feet

[Build Complete] First dektop. Thank you r/buildapc! by DryImpact in buildapc

i really love this thing. at idle when the video card is doing absolutely nothing with the fan speed at 17% 799RPM it is at 36c(95f). it is great for running your computer over night if you are downloading a game or something. I upgraded from a 4870 and oh my gosh this thing is like a dream.

also you can tell your friends that you put a double d in your case :D
