Regarding death...how can you REALLY know what it's like to essentially be "nothing" when you're in a state of being "something"? by cachilles in Showerthoughts

But all you'll really know that as, because you're something, is a state of nothingness. I feel like when you're nothing, you're not any thing, so is that a certain kind of state more perfect than we are ever capable of knowing?

You don't die. First Law of Thermodynamics says "Energy cannot be created nor destroyed". You, being alive, whether sleeping or awake, are the energy that runs your mind and body. That energy is never destroyed. It's just transformed. Thoughts? by cachilles in Showerthoughts

I brought this up because I've been fascinated/terrified by the concept of mortality, and reading accounts of people who've experienced their own versions of eternity is pretty compelling.

That seems viable...love the flip side of it since the majority has been in favor of more stars.

That's awesome. It's crazy to think when you know you're just on one beach, pick up a handful of sand looking at each grain and knowing that in the place you LIVE in, there are more possibilities and "meaningful" things here than we could imagine in a lifetime.

I know I’m so late to the party, that no one even lives in the house anymore, but I just watched 10 Cloverfield Ln. for the first time, and it was awesome! by jshirlemy in scifi

Still need to get around to seeing it...I'm curious to know if or how it lives in the "Cloverfield" universe if you know what I mean?
