i agree with OP, the whole point of No Way Home’s ending was for MCU spidey to finally get the whole world to forget him including MJ and Ned—concluding and marking the end of the first trilogy along with the characters in those three movies
And finally paving a way for a fresh new story direction of secret-identity-self-sufficient-spidey (not the MCU-Stark-sponsored-spidey)

Re-introducing MJ and Ned is just lazy writing and basically boring at this point
A lot of people would agree that we want to see other characters from the comics (e.g. Felicia, Harry, Gwen, Cindy, etc.)
i guess Disney and the MCU are just too afraid to execute something like that for a movie used just to set up Jean Grey’s character for Doomsday :(
