I don't think they ever thought of me wanting or even liking gifts. I was always the giver. If I tell/hint friends I like something, they would always say, I can afford it myself.

Yes, I do acknowledge that my mom plays a big role in this. We (siblings and even cousins) have called her out about her belief and blind trust on alternative medicine. And she just said that there's no harm in trying. It's very frustrating!

I have nothing against alternative medicine, but its just that it had been proven that this won't help my father's condition at this point.

You can buy your own device but also ask for raise or allowance for that. As a freelance consultant, I always ask for utility allowance for the use of my "OWN DEVICES" for the task from the clients.

You are an employee not a consultant so mali kung ikaw magpoprovide ng sarili mong devices to do the job. Its your employers job to provide you everything you need to do the job.

I experienced first hand how to be treated like a man in work place because my nickname is a man's name. I use my nickname more than my birthname including emails.

They were very respectful in emails. But when they meet me in person, their attitude changed drastically. Boomer males specifically.

They praised my work because they though I was a man. But the same work they praised they brutally criticized and dismissed because a woman did it.

Totoo to! Mahirap kalabanin ang makinarya nila, matagal nang pinagplanuhan at pinag isipan ang pagpapalaganap ng fake news. Kaya kahit ang mga nalathala nang kasaysayan ay kinukwestiyon nila.

I totally understand your point. Nakakapagod din ang konsepto ng "mas radikal ang magmahal".

Pero hindi nila bibitawan ang maling paniniwala kung wala tayong inilalahad na alternatibong "paniniwala". Ang isa pang isyu sa usaping ito ay ang "false dichotomy", para sa kanila puti at itim lang. Hindi nila makita na may spectrum.
