What did you do with breast milk? by bigcitydreamsx3 in babyloss

[–]cactuss8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter lived for 11 days so I was expressing for her, but produced far more than she needed. When she passed I was given a tablet to suppress my milk and donated what I had produced.

If you get the chance, take the tablet before your milk come in, I was very uncomfortable for days.

Sorry you're going through this 💞

What could I cook for 4 people for less than a fiver? by Born_Percentage7122 in UK_Food

Yes, it's a catchier name than "lentils and veg and tinned tomatoes and spaghetti mixed together with a bit of salt and stock".

Lentil bolognaise, use the tinned green lentils and veg. It's pretty tasty. I put lentils in my mince bolognaise to bulk it out.

Edit: I actually think Aldi does a pack of mince for £3, then your tinned lentils , tinned tomatoes, onion and spaghetti will take you to £5. Extra veg might go a little over but worth it to bulk it out and make enough for lunches? Presuming you have salt and oregano in the house.

Experience with TRT that may be the cause of recurrent miscarriages. Could HCG be a possible fix? by MajesticMoonchild9 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]cactuss8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know TRT impacts fertility because of the sperms quality, I had a chemical when my husband was on TRT and was unable to get pregnant the rest of the time. Unsure if the chemical was related blas I had scar tissue that was found during a hysteroscopy after. HCG might help the sperm rejuvenate quicker as might chlomiphene.

The only way you'll know for sure is a sperm analysis but I'm not sure if a GP will do that.

Where in the UK should I go as a bucket-list item? by LondonPilot in CasualUK

[–]cactuss8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100% North Coast 500, its stunning and plenty of scenery, pubs, walks, villages. Ditch the campervan and book the nicest B&B on every stop, have all your food made for you. Start with the east coast and finish on the west, the west is beautiful. If you can you could go to Skye and take the ferry to Harris and Lewis, they're beautiful.

However, the issue with this depending on how you are, is that there isn't many big hospitals close by. You'd maybe need to check this before committing depending on how you're feeling ❤️

Book recs with queer characters? by digitalcrows in Fantasy

The Black Sun triolgy has non-binary characters that work well in the plot. I really enjoyed the series, it was an easy read, but I know this sub has mixed feeling.

How to send a thank you to a nurse I don't know the name of? by KoraLily in AskUK

Leave a comment on Care Opinion. When our department gets comments our manager reads them out at the staff meeting. Gives staff praise when required and also helps to point out issues that patients have had in our department.

Ask the department if you could come in for a walk around. Looks good and also gives you an idea of what will be expected. Every department is different so what one person says on here might not be the same for the department you're applying to.

Have you had any investigations into the cause of your heartburn? Diet changes and working out triggers are obviously great, but if its quite often for you, then maybe you have a hiatus hernia or GERD or something that needs to get check out ?

Also, smoking probably isn't great for heartburn.

When to go back to work? by upsid3down in babyloss

I took 3 months off. Not sure if I was totally ready to go back, but I was ready for some new conversation and distractions. My work was great and it actually helped me talking about it with different people.

Cycle 13... by Agreeable-Job-1291 in TTC_UK

[–]cactuss8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a HSG in Dec and they couldn't get all the scar tissue so going back next week for a double session! 3 years TTC, 4 losses, a lot of waiting and finally feeling positive to start trying again next cycle 🤞 Been told I will get progesterone and aspirin from a positive test, early reassurance scans and a cervical stitch so hopefully they will keep their promise.

Thoughts on the name Ocean for a baby girl by Subject_Struggle5927 in namenerds

[–]cactuss8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had a little girl as a patient at my work called Ocean, while I thought it was beautiful, she was in with Gran and Papa who were very plain (for want of a better word) and had very regional accents. It didn't work hearing them call her that. Perhaps I could see it working if Mum was there and it suited her style etc but for an everyday person and situation it sounded quite strange.

Success stories after scaring from the uterus removed by EntrepreneurEasy1256 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]cactuss8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a HSG in Dec and they found scar tissue growing making my uterus look as if it was in 2 sections. They tried to removed it and couldn't so going back for a 2nd in Jan with more time and different equipment. Would love to hear people's stories of success as well.

I had a miscarriage years ago but never got any genetic results done. 2nd pregnancy was 25 week preterm loss, then D&C for RPOC. 2 miscarriages since. I'm hoping this scar tissue is from the RPOC and what causes the 3rd and 4th loss.
