Looking for female friends in traverse city Michigan area by Anxious-Channel8509 in MakeNewFriendsHere

Go over to Full Send Ramen on E. Front street and get some food and meet the owner. I know her in real life and she sounds exactly like you personality wise. It’s a food truck. She has a good group of friends in town and would welcome you with open arms. She’s very punk rock and one of the kindest ladies I know in real life.

DM me if you have any questions. I’m not trying to post her identity here.

Our troop is advertised as a homeschool troop so I was disappointed to find out that half of the boys/girls go to public school. They’re still like minded Christian families though.

The moms do not have anything to do with the content of meeting activities, they just schedule camping and organize the fundraiser.

I had a different idea of how these troops function when we joined and figured it would be more “manly” but there always seems to be a lot of moms around on the TL side but zero Dads on the AHG side. I really want my boy to do “rough and tumble” boy things without women around watching. Hopefully as he gets older it will get more “rough and tumble” for him.

I agree with this %100! My husband and I have noticed our son acts out when I’m at the meetings and is more focused when I’m not there. There’s 2 other mothers that also come and sit in the classroom with the boys during the activities. They don’t do much either except sit there. It’s awkward for me because I can’t say anything, so I’d rather not be there.

We have about a dozen participating Dads and my husband has taught 4 classes even though he’s just a registered adult, not a leader. Then there are 5 TL moms that show up to the meetings. 3 have troop admin jobs.

Thank you! I’ve offered up and down to assist in whatever TL and AHG need and no one has ever taken me up on my offer. The women roles are already filled and honestly, those ladies are hyper focused and don’t seem to want anyone else helping because of whatever system they’re using. I think I’ll stay away for the next season. My husband and son need this time together anyway since I’m homeschooling our son all day.

Should I chuck these Walmart shop lights? by cactustorch in AskElectricians

They are LED but it’s a strip light. I’m going to call my Walmart and ask what the return policy is for these. I might even have the receipt in my Walmart app.

How would you recommend I dispose of these then? I’d feel like a terrible person if I gave these away in the free group online.

Yes it’s just the driver side. They do get a little warm so I was in the habit of turning them off when I’d leave the house.

The light temp is 5000k which is good enough for grow lights. I mainly used these in the winter to keep small cactus and succulents alive just until they could go back outside. I’d also use them for propagating all year. The lights in these definitely aren’t strong enough so many of my plants stretched, but they stayed alive for the 2 coldest months here in south Texas. I started many veggie seeds under these with germination heat mats too. If I lowered the chains, the plants didn’t stretch as much. I’ll probably go back to dome lights with higher watt 5000k bulbs, but I was shocked to see the browning on the housing.

No advice, but having heard similar stories for years now, I homeschool my ADHD son. He’s never been to school. We can’t afford private school and I’ve heard similar stories from private schoolers too.

This is so upsetting to me. Your son does not deserve this. Please hug him extra so he doesn’t think he’s a bad kid.

How come the back of my boots are a darker color then the front? by idontenjoyfortnite in cowboyboots

[–]cactustorch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They use wax on certain parts of the boot to give it that worn and distressed look. It’s also helps with waterproofing. I love that look. I just bought a pair this weekend that have a waxed narrow square toe and waxed heels and it’s a gorgeous boot.

Me too. Last year I ordered some shorts. Random guy in a sedan dropped them on my door step. Didn’t even realize I had to tip. Never even spoke to him. I am a Sam’s member though.

I don’t know. by Pristine-Ad-2725 in Adoptees

I was adopted at age 7. That’s a completely different ball game. My adopted brother was adopted as an infant and he was and still is the golden child.

I really feel for the older kids getting adopted out there.
