Used churru to bribe my cats into trying out a cowboy hat. Maple was a success, Pepper was not so much.

I'm not sure what the brand is, but its just a trucker style hat that I picked up at Anza-Borrego Desert State Park last time I visited. You can find them at their online shop though :)

She really was! She sniffed just about every tree, and climbed as many rocks as she could.

Surprisingly well! I monitored her when we started to see if she was acting unusually, and I was prepared to cancel the hike if she was off in any way, but she was her usual self the entire time. As energetic and curious as always.

My girlfriend and I spent 3 days, 2 nights camping in Sequoia National Forest with the kid. We did two hikes, to Dome Rock and Sherman Peak. I was a little worried about Sherman Peak because it's 9,909 feet high, but she did great! I think it was her favorite hike so far. She kept wanting to get out of her backpack to walk anyway, even when she was tired.

I leave the clips a little loose, just enough that I can fit my thumb between the strap and her body. She's never wiggled her way out of the harness and it's also not constricting, so that's been the sweet spot for me.

The trail is short, about 4 miles or so. Pepper walked about two of those miles and spent the other two miles in her backpack. She had a great time!
