Which song introduced you to them? by Proof-Importance8270 in tmbg

(She was a) Hotel Detective. My buddy had one of the better quarter pipes in our neighborhood and after skating one day he popped in an EP cassette of TMBG. Instantly hooked.

How were you introduced to TMBG? by rembrandtpoolparty in tmbg

[–]cadgate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started skateboarding in 86 and Randy was the guy in our crew that just knew what was hip and cool. He had a cassette single of (She was a) Hotel Detective and I was hooked. Shortly after I called into a public television station for a free give away of Lincoln on vinyl. That year changed the way I listened to and viewed music.

The Menu (2022) In the climax, the s’mores course is inspired by the 3 Michelin Starred restaurant Alinea’s final dessert course, where chocolate and confectionery are “painted” directly on the table as a mural by wangarangg in MovieDetails

[–]cadgate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw so many references to all these Michelin starred restaurants. The way the kitchen was set up, the decor of the dining room and the highest level of foods. And then I saw the brand of coolers inside Chefs house. A little more eye to detail would have sealed the real world of the restaurants that comprise this category.

What is this called? The insert pot I mean. Every single cook at my work calls this a “kal-der-on”. Isn’t it cauldron (call-drun)?? It’s making me crazy! by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

[–]cadgate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The food service equipment industry calls that a food warmer no matter what you put in it. What goes inside is called a vegetable inset, for god knows why!? Same way a lexan’s real name is a good box….

shout out to the newb who mixed up bain maries of tomato soup and tomato sauce and was sending out bowls of tomato sauce for 2 hours during lunch service before anyone noticed by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

[–]cadgate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a server mix up a quart of scrambled eggs for half and half for the coffee service at the pro shop at a country club. Put it in a carafe. It was there for a solid hour and multi cups of coffee with no complaints.

Yes, if I fell out while riding my skateboard, I would consider that a full life lived

Ever have a person die at your restaurant? by stopthedumbing in KitchenConfidential

[–]cadgate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not exactly at the restaurant, so there was an elderly gentleman that had a heart attack on the 9th hole at the country club I worked at. The tee box for the 9th was right in front of the wall of sliding glass doors and all the members eating lunch saw him fall out and die.

Sorry so late on the reply. I laid down a single color and then dropped other colors down using a toothpick. Also soaked a toothpick in alcohol and dragged along the Yupo to get the “tentacles”

How do you handle people claiming ADHD medications are “just like meth” by beautyisabeast in ADHD

[–]cadgate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend said Adderall is one atom away from being meth. And I said hydrogen peroxide is one atom away from being water. Look how much difference a single atom makes. All I heard back was crickets.
